New PC for fs2020/2024

Ryzen 6 could well be the first gen with backside power delivery. This in itself will yield significant IPC gains yet again.
High yield gives a run down here.

for me, I just upgraded with the following
-Asus Z790-A
-Intel i-9 13900K
-corsair vengeance 4x16 gb DDR5
-corsair 5000D
-corsair iQue AIO cpu cooler

(Already had from the piror build)
Samsung Evo SDD
M.2 SSD (for the windows drive)
Corsair 850 (or 1000) Watt Modular PSU

the prior build had an 8th gen 6 core and she was starting to show her age

We are seven weeks from COMPUTEX in early June.
An unveiling of Zen5 is very much expected, of course it is different from general availability in stores.
At the very least, an announcement will have some impact on pricing of current SKUs for both Zen4 CPUs and existing X670/B650 mobos.

I wonder with FSR3 if the 7900 may become more unleashed, seems like the card is held back by software. I still wanted to stay all AMD architecture to match the XB for optimization, I’m sure 2024 will have a lot of optimizations implemented. I know the 4080S is the hero right now, but really only due to better software in frame generation.

I wanted to do the same. Stay on a full AMD platform. I had a RX6800 5800X3D last year.

Xplane was the main reason I switched back to Nvidia. That’s AMD downfall software. Pity because they make really good gpus on the hardware side.

I have had the 4080 super for nearly two months now and love it.

Resuscitating this old thread, as the first “alleged” benchmarks for Ryzen 9000 are starting to show up. To be taken with a grain of salt, but fun to read nevertheless:

As previously mentioned, even if these numbers are confirmed, how it would translate for gaming is unclear.
Cannot wait to see how 3D Vcache versions will perform with MSFS2024.
