New pc setup

Makes a good overall impression. I just checked the website for the PSU and cooler but I guess it’s okay.

One thing to keep an eye on is the CPU temperature, such stores often save some money with bad / cheap thermal paste.

And you might get some stutters due to the 64GB RAM with that CPU, it requires really fast latency and 64GB is a bit much for that. But otherwise no objections. Except I personally wouldn’t buy one right now with all the prices being at an all time high.

I think prices will fall in the future, I know a tech guy who works at a computer company. Says the industry will find a way to hit the crypto mining sector very hard and limit GPUs only to gamers. I don’t know how they’ll do it, but apparently it’s already on the agenda.

Mining is dead, GPUs are selling below MSRP, nVidia has been told they cannot scale back their initial order of 5nm wafers from TMC as they can see the forthcoming glut, AMD on the other hand has reduced it’s 6-7nm orders but remains optimistic on it’s upcomming 5nm offerings.

they already have hit the Miners, with LHR cards. These are useless in mining rigs

And the Xbox Series X is still the Microsoft flagship, so further sim optimisations will be about getting more with less, not enabling the latest features of the newest video cards snd CPU’s. I’d save your money for now.

None of us knew when we were born, but we learned.

Looking to get new pc, for use with vr headset.
Spec so far-

Rtx 4090
Ryzen 9 7950x
4x 16gb ddr5
1.0tb seagate firecuda 530 m. 2 nvme ssd

Should I go with 1.0tb or add more storage

Thank you

I would add a smaller 256GB M2 SATA for the operating system, a 1TB M2 for FS and another 1TB SSD for less important apps and junk

Always a good idea to have the system on its own.
