Well, I have factory reset my Xbox, and deleted my MSFS user data and done a virgin install (multiple times) set up as new, and the issue is there. Not making it up. Video posted in the Bug section.
I too can confirm after 5 long days, live weather is back!!! Woo hoo!
Your wording was:
That suggested it was the case for all Xbox users. I just stated that that is not the case for all Xbox users. That was it.
I didn’t write anything, whatsoever, to suggest you weren’t having the issue or that you were making it up.
Yes,
I think the server doesnt change anything with this bug
yes, you are right, I should have said on my Xbox (not everyone’s). Defintely an odd bug, to have the General Options GUI screwed up.
Today, the live weather slow update issue seems to have gone.
Login to US-WEST server. and spawn on KMSP, I can see cloud immediately on the sky and metar baro/temp are also updated.
Since a few days now, when I start a flight, real weather takes more than 3 min sometimes to initiate and display.
Flying the PMDG 737-900ER over a storm system, not a cloud in sight…
It’s still hit or miss. loaded in SFO where there should be some clouds but it’s clear as can be. loaded into other airports and there was clouds. Not sure what to make of this bug. definitely strange…
Mine is not grey out the online factionality after install the offline data.
Appeared cloud on xbox west europe server at the czst airport is in canada this airport. Sorry for my English.
Also can confirm its now working..!! lets hope it stays like this
Got disconnected and then reconnected successfully mid flight. Fps are now smooth and clouds look like they are loading right. Lets hope it stays this way ![]()
This is very strange! I did a flight over an hour ago from Hope (CYHE) to Vancouver (CYVR) because I live roughly halfway between the two. The METARS showed current date and time, the weather was pretty much what I saw outside and there was a WICKED headwind (31kts!) at 5,000ft. This on US west server. On Sunday evening I did a flight from Kelowna (CYLW) to Vancouver for the same reasons and again the weather was pretty much what I saw here. That was on the Western Europe server FWIW.
Some images from earlier this evening:
Wind when landing was 17 gusting 20kts about 45 deg from the left
US East server Weather is working also showing back up on world map.
The problem still persists on the South East Asia server for me. At first, I loaded up the flight on VTSS and got no cloud, so I restarted the flight and it worked! And then I thought I should try a different airport so I loaded up the flight on VVNB and it went back to the same problem: no clouds, weird smog/fog around the airport, and no rain at all.
The METAR at VVNB is the following:
VVNB 080330Z 15005KT 120V180 6000 -RA BKN004 OVC014 21/20 Q1014 NOSIG
It doesn’t stop there, I loaded the flight back on VTSS, and… no clouds, nothing.
Guess I’ll just wait for a permanent solution then.
Just tried starting at several U.S. airports, using the East server. While most of the airports I picked had the correct type of weather conditions, many (in Michigan, for example) still do not, with no snow where there should be snow (and there was snow before the outage). If the metar was checked for these airports in the sim, I believe they were correct and up-to-date, but the same weather was not yet reflected in the sim. So I hope this will “catch up” soon and all airports will be in sync between the metar and the weather depicted. Has anyone else experienced this apparent “lag”?
Did a flight from Sapporo to Tokyo, weather seemed accurate, but mid-flight the plane jolted with a sudden change in QNH and wind direction / speed, so obviously hit by an update.
Windshear, windshear
