I totally agree with Jab0m. Fixing stutters is great, but releasing a broken live weather implementation for Career Mode into a stable update is baffling.
We keep waiting for fixes, but instead, we’re seeing a total collapse of immersion. While visuals and performance get all the attention, core mechanics like Live Weather and Traffic—the soul of Career progression—are completely stripped away.
Here is a perfect example of what I call a ‘cubic vacuum’: cruising at FL410 with zero wind and zero traffic. I’ve previously suggested ways to deepen immersion, like environment-based airframe grime logic (link), but right now, we’d just be happy if the basic world data actually worked. This isn’t an upgrade; it’s a regression.
I don’t actually use FSRealistic or similar tools. I believe the sim should work properly ‘out of the box’ without relying on third-party ‘band-aids’ for basic immersion. I only use FSLTL and custom airports, but even they can’t save the experience when the core engine fails to provide weather and world data.
It’s a matter of priorities. Implementing many of these immersion features is technically simple—it’s just basic shader math and environmental variables. I know how shaders work, and if the code wasn’t locked down so tightly, adding those missing touches would take an hour at most.
Instead, they focus on ‘prettier grass’ while fundamental systems for Career Mode—the very soul of the game—are breaking. We shouldn’t need a folder full of plugins just to feel like the world isn’t a ‘cubic vacuum’.
I noticed this in the first 2 minutes of loading the sim and entering career mode. Sorry but I would question ‘intense testing’. In my opinion, this should not have been missed.
I’ll just add a little bit of absurdity regarding the weather logic.
Here I am, descending into Diyarbakir (LTCC). My tablet clearly shows the METAR: 6KT winds and FEW025 clouds. Yet, as you can see out the windshield, it’s a perfectly sterile, crystal-clear sky with zero wind influence on the airframe.
The system ‘knows’ the weather data is there, but the world remains a dead, ‘cubic vacuum’ regardless. It’s not just a mission bug; it’s a total disconnect between the data and the simulation.
The Problem was partially there in the last weeks of SU4 where some cargo missions which i flew with the PC 12 had this vacuum… when before there was always some kind of “historical past” weather there. But SU5 broke everything with live weather in the career.
Correct, and I have only seen this message pop up when viewing the Missions map - however it has not consistently appeared, despite live weather/missions consistently being unavailable.
I noticed that too, but back then it felt like a rare glitch or some weird ‘historical data’ fallback. It wasn’t a dealbreaker. Now, after SU5, it’s a total systemic failure.
The world is just sterile now. As I showed in my screenshots, the sim has the METAR data, it knows the pressure and the wind, but it refuses to render it. We went from occasional ‘vacuum missions’ to a permanent ‘dead world’ across the entire Career Mode. It’s a massive step backward in terms of immersion.

В карьере пользуюсь BeyondATC ради траффика, он то появляется, то пропадает, работает не стабильно. Также грузовые миссии для Pilatus PC24 не соответствуют летным характеристикам самолета, а именно касается это аэропортов вылета и прилета, дают слишком короткие полосы.
I just got off the PC-24 today, switched to the A320. There were more than enough missions with real weather before the update (I drove VIPs), now there is not a single one at all.

Yeah, it’s broken for everyone. Unfortunately, the thread isn’t very active right now. It would be great if more people joined in to push them to fix this bug! Also, the traffic is completely messed up too — FSLTL is broken, and even the default live traffic is glitching out, appearing and disappearing constantly.
same thing for me and don’t lemme start about the fact u buy a plane for 400M for 19mil max missions and u need to transfer ur plane for 5mil even more at this rate stick witch passenger missions with the A330 the 747 and dreamlifter is a waste of money .

There is weather for employee mode which is where the gold missions are but no live weather for freelancer anywhere at all. Needs a hotfix and pronto and hoping the lack of live weather doesn’t translate to the great performance we are all seeing in career mode. Freelancer at the moment will get boring quickly flying with no clouds, no winds nothing.
Same problem on PS5 pro. No live weather in career with possible exception of passenger transport with daytime missions only. Similar to poster above, noticed this in cargo missions in the final weeks of SU4 but now much worse in SU5 as it applies to multiple specializations. The new gold star heavy cargo mission had awesome weather however but that is the one exception. What’s crazy is that I went back to SU5 beta and it works great. Live weather in all specializations including new heavy cargo. And no low memory issues and avionics blacking out. Makes me hopeful this was simple human error and someone picked the wrong version to go live vs more complex bugs that will take time to resolve.
