Non Functioning EFB in VR

And it wasn’t in the change log, so no surprise it’s still broken.

My mistake then…I remember them saying on the live stream that it was supposed to be fixed with SU2…guess not…or at least not yet.

Virtual Reality

  • Added the option to move the EFB when it’s undocked in VR
  • Made the EFB interactable in VR when externalized

Let’s see if it’s done

I gave it try yesterday…its better…but I broke it somehow LoL. Just an FYI, if you are in the Beta SU2, your career stuff does not count. I switched back because of that for the time being.

Just tried the classic Cessna in SU2 beta, the EFB isn’t working in this aircraft

Experiencing the same issue

I wish it had an on screen keyboard for entering stuff. I don’t like the lift the headset and use the real keyboard thing. Immersion breaker

If you’re using Virtual Desktop, there is an option to have a pass through box with your keyboard if it’s visible. When that is selected it is automaticly located. You can set the transparency. You also can define your own area for other peripherals like yoke and throttle.

Really hoping the scaling issue with the EFB is fixed before SU2 goes live.

Well at least they are trying to do an update every 30 days to fix these issues, so it will get handled. Eventually?

The EFB seems to have improved compared to before SU2 beta, at least it is interactable when pressing TAB. It is acting strange though, when I am trying to move it around in the cockpit to find a good position, every time I move it, it becomes smaller and smaller by about 5%. After a while it’s getting so small it’s becoming useless. Is this a known issue or has nobody noticed this yet?

Also, it is changing shape and position weirdly, there is no great control over positioning and sizing the thing…

It looks like the EFB has stopped working for me in VR.

I cannot display the EFB in VR in the Daher (for example), either by a keybind or by the toolbar button. Both of these work in 2D, and in those planes that have a built-in EFB (e.g. C172).

It was appearing in earlier versions of the beta (albeit over-sized), but now it is gone again. It was too big to be usable, but at least I could get it to show, but now it’s regressed again.

To Asobo’s credit they did mark the EFB issues in VR as partially fixed in SU2. Hopefully it will at least be workable and completely fixed by SU3.

Not enough. They said it would be fixed in su2, not partially fixed.
Why would we settle for a partially fixed efb? If we can’t resize why use it?

Unless you are privy to official communication from Asobo, i don’t recall seeing or hearing anything official saying the EFB will be fixed 100% in SU2. I want it fixed just as much as the next person since VR is all I fly with but I’m happy to see that they are at least working on a massive list of fixes.

Cmon, go back and you’ll see plenty of evidence saying they’ll fix it in su2

Reality is MS/Asobo released FS24 as a paid beta version, they just didn’t say so. I have paid for beta releases before so it’s not an issue for me and I would have considered doing so with FS2024, but I would have liked to have known in advance what was “still in progress”. If it said that the floating EFB window would be unusable in VR, l likely would have gone forward anyway and not felt a bit “short changed”. As it is, the combination of the Career mode being much less than my expectations and the issues in VR that exasperate that disappointment, along with the loss of about $500 in Market Place purchases from 2020 that have not transferred over as workable 2024 vintage airplanes and airfields, I just slowly lost interest. I have not played it for months. I am just watching from the hanger now so to speak, to see when this FS24 project interests me..

I would LOVE to be able to resize the EFB. Whenever you’re ready to fix that Asobo.

Sometimes things change? They may have found issues deeper in the code that require more digging to fix. At least they are actually working on fixing it. I don’t think they would hold up an entire update for one bug they are having issues taking care of. So they are going to push update 2 with a partial fixed EFB, and continue the work for update 3. Not the solution and timing we were all hoping for, but there is progress.

Anyone able to confirm if the EFB scaling / resizing has been fixed with SU2 full release?
