Not AAU1: Cessna Citation Longitude Flight Dynamics Modification Project

Is there a brightness kicking about for the centre PFD please?

Brilliant thanks couldn’t find it during my night flight :+1::+1:

How do I enter Long/Lat coordinates in the FMS. Could someone provide the proper format. Thank you in advance.

You can’t enter custom user points using Lat/Long directly into the Garmin. You can predefine those using Lat/Long at the World Map planner screen in the sim and add those as custom Waypoints.

Anyone have advice to offer on how to get the reversers properly mapped with SPAD.Next?

Mine seemed to work off a standard throttle with reverser set up although there doesn’t seem to be much reverse power, the engines spool up and the shrowds open not sure how much reverse thrust they actually give so I can’t really comment too much.

If anyone can advise on this be great, should reversers be able to move the aircraft backwards a bit or just enough thrust to assist with slowing down?

Yep, I’ve been able to taxi backwards in the Longitude with the reversers on.

I rarely use TRs except for short runways, or bad landing technique where I’m halfway along the runway before touchdown and too proud to Go Around. But the auto-spoilers and brakes are usually sufficient for most landings.

My procedure: I have the Logitech throttle quadrant, with the bottom ā€œdetentā€ set to Toggle the thrust reversers. (I do not use Spad.Next, FYI) Throttles at idle when I touch down, pull throttle back into the detent, then (Important!) throttle up about 50-75% to give the reversers some ooomph, then when below say 50 knots I pull throttle back all the way again to the detent to turn off the reversers, back up to idle, exit runway, etc.

There was some other thread where a person mentioned that simply pulling back into the TR ā€œDetentā€ automatically revved up the engines for I think the Airbus NEO, but I’ve always manually upped the throttles on the Longitude.

My setup and procedure also works for the TBM-930 turboprop and I think the Beechcraft. There’s a landing challenge with the latter to a super-short runway in the Carribean, and this procedure is absolutely needed to prevent going over a cliff.

I’ve got the airbus throttle quadrant forgotten to mention that so I’m hoping I can get full reverse in the detents working :crossed_fingers:

I’m having an issue with my warning call outs in the Longitude. The volume is very low, and I can barely hear them. Every other sound is good. I’ve maxed out my volumes to see if that would fix the issue to no avail. Has anyone ever had this issue?

When I start C&D, the ā€œSpoilers Disabledā€ message is flashing on the PFD. I have the spoilers tied to my flight yoke, and even though I see that message, I can advance the lever and my spoilers move as they normally do - so they’re not really disabled (or maybe I’m interpreting that incorrectly).

I’ve looked at some Longitude checklists and they advise that the spoilers should be set to NORM before landing, which makes sense. To be honest, I hate having the thing flash, so I arm them as one of my startup options at the gate.

Can someone please explain what I should be doing? Should I just enable the spoilers and move on? What’s the correct process? I really have searched for an answer for this but I haven’t found anything. Thanks.

EDIT: I think I found my answer on another thread. If this is correct, the system wants the spoilers loaded in case of a rejected takeoff. That makes sense to me.

To clarify, this is to ā€œarm auto-spoilersā€, which automatically deploy on both landings and aborted takeoffs. The armed/not-armed mode is independent of the manual spoiler control.

I almost never manually use the spoilers on this jet. It seems to slow down on its own very nicely using the auto-throttle. On the other hand, the CJ4 WT seems to need a lot of spoiler to get it below 200 knots to get the flaps down.

You should provide that feedback to Working Title if you haven’t seen all the progress the team’s made on the stock Longitude.

Per Matt on the working title discord we will see changes here in the upcoming refresh.

ā€œThe ā€œfuel cutoffā€ is now GRAVITY XFLOW and AUTO GROUND SPOILERS is now FUEL RECIRCā€

I need to get with you all in the discord some day, I have several other items that could use some attention.

You should! The Working Title devs are super responsive and it’s one of the most friendly and laid-back communities I’ve been a part of in my 20+ years on the web! Everyone is chill and there’s rarely any bickering. That stuff gets shut down real fast. :sunglasses:

With all the work they’ve got pending on the Longitude I think all of us here that have been using Dakfly’s mod will be very pleased from what I’ve seen in the progress channel.

Highly recommend getting on their discord channel and going to the ā€œProgressā€ section. Im not big on Discord but i now check it constantly looking at the updates they are doing on the Longitude. Over the last 2 months they have been sharing alot of preview videos/images of the new systems and logic. Its going to be quite an overhaul over what we have now.

Is there any chance that someone who knows what they’re doing could create a base performance profile for use with Little Navmap? https://albar965.github.io/
I’ve had a go myself but can’t seem to get it right and end up running out of fuel even if my burn in the cruise is lower than I set in the profile.

No need. Someone already created one. If you need more data, just start collecting it during your flight using Little Nav Map, then merge it into a copy of the Performance File.

Unfortunately that one is so incorrect you may as well start with a blank sheet.
