are there new changes to the lights in v1.70, or are you talking about the previous?
Lights are flashing in alternation red-white on top of the vertical stab and belly. Havent noticed it before, as i flew moslty day incockpit
Oh OK. That happened while I was still in the womb
. Right now, Iām trying to change all the wing lights to red/green and eliminate the wing strobes. Iāve managed to turn them colored, but theyāre still switching on with the strobes. Iām looking to make them switch on with the nav lights.
@Dakfly0219 or anyone in the know, is there a way to not have to close and reopen the sim each time one makes a modification, to see the effect? Maybe with the Developer mode? Having to restart the sim after each change is kinda driving me nuts.
Welcome to my world. If anyone else knows how to do this it would be a HUGE time saver. Try restarting the sim hundreds of times while making and testing mods. I miss FSX/Prepar3d in this regard.
In developer mode you can reload the aircraft
P.S. Dakfly, are you planning on removing the reverser sound in a future update? Even though it has no physical affect itās kind of annoying and immersion breaking.
It doesnāt reload cfg files - at least not that Iāve seen. @JeffreyCobra, Have you confirmed this has been addressed by Asobo? If so I need to jump up and down for joy.
I think it might be better rather than eliminating the reverser sound to see if itās possible to avoid the low idle issue by adjusting engines.cfg or to adjust the parameters for the playback of the reverser sound - perhaps so that it can only play when a/c is below a certain height agl. Not even sure where the sound reference files are or if I can access those.
Yes it does reload the aircraft, and thatās what I was doing until after a very long time, I discovered the .cfg files werenāt being reloaded.
Sounds like you feel my pain.
Longitude uninstalled, reinstalled, copied layout.json to \Official\OneStore\Asobo-aircraft-longitude, Arm Spoilers switch working again
Working on an interim update with the following:
Improved thrust at N1 values less than 50%. Should improve taxi and descent / approach throttle control. Also minimizes audible reverse thrust sound that plays at low rpm. Still occurs at exactly 24% N1 and at speeds above about 225 KIAS and I canāt determine how to eliminate this. However, in practical use, the sound is only heard for a brief moment as the engines pass through this N1 value. There are very few circumstances now where one would hear the reverser sound continuously.
Also, Iāve added approach altitude audible alerts for 200, 100, and 50 feet agl. I donāt know for sure if the real bird even has audible alerting like this, but it sounds good and definitely improves approach situational awareness.
Good to hear. Canāt wait. The audible alerts is a must for me. Iām very short sighted (albinism) and I have to set my minimums to 25 feet AGL just to know when to start flaring (as soon as it turns yellow haha!). So I donāt even mind the 40, 30, 20, 10, ⦠for my personal use, even if the real thing doesnāt have it.
Didnāt get to do the flight yesterday. Got tired after tweaking the lights. I donāt know how to make them come on with the nav lights so but Iāve changed the colors. Iāll leave it so for now, donāt mind living with them being turning on with the strobes as Iāll be in the cockpit. Iād rather have them red/green than flashing, so Iām leaving them so.
The altitude voice calloutās are based on the terrain awareness warning system via the radar altimeter when less than 5nm to the nearest airport. 500ā is called out if the flight director is not set to glideslope or glidepath mode.
The other callouts available are 400, 300, 200, 100, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10. These are selectable by the crew according to the manual but if I recall, it is actually a maintenance item to go into config mode and turn these on.
Thanks - useful feedback. This TAWS logic is not available in the sim for the callouts. It is simpler and just looks to see if the aircraft is descending through these altitudes (AGL from radar altimeter) and then calls these out. Even if gear up and flaps up. But most of us arenāt regularly flying around at less than 500 feet in this a/c so I donāt think this will be an issue for most sim pilots.
I also was unable to program 40, 30, 20,⦠just didnāt do anything. I could try 400 and 300.
Probably a limitation that limits it to 50. I donāt know, does the A3NX have those calls? Maybe find out how they got the smaller numbers if it has them. I havenāt flown that bird since after the beta. I hate that plane (Asoboās, not the real life one, which I love so much), so I donāt fly it, as good as theyāve modded it and as tempted as I get sometimes, but the cockpit design is a huge turn off for me. I donāt know how they could design such a thing. The glareshield is so different from IRL, Iāve tried to convince myself that itās a version I havenāt seen. I first thought it was how the new Neoās cockpit was, but Iāve looked at many pics and NO. Boy am I so picky haha.
Sorry to digress.
they(FBWās model) have 2500ā 1000ā 500ā and about every other call down to 5 + +minimum + retard retard + takeoff V1
If you add this https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/tbm-930-audible-alert-fixes-updated/278815 to panel.xml it will enable minimums callout and 1000ft to go alert.
I may be the only one, but when I make a 30 KIAS or more reduction in SPEED the Autothrottles are going into reverse in flight.
We spoke about that couple of posts ago.
Its only the sound of reverse
