Not AAU1: Cessna Citation Longitude Flight Dynamics Modification Project

I’ve downloaded and installed WT G3000 V5.1. It is a remarkable improvement over prior versions and vs the default avionics, of course. This looks far more like the G3/G5k suite that I’ve seen videography and photos of. And they have the speed tape and various other issues sorted out. I am testing with AT armed. Performed an FLC climb at 290/300/M0.80 to FL430. Ran at M0.8 and M0.84. I see no unreasonable restriction on N1 or N2 engine values with AT engaged during climb and nice enough the engines stayed out of the red for the entirety of the climb. Bonus! However, I do see the limit at 85% N1 in cruise which does prevent reaching Mmo. The default longitude has inaccurate engine performance specs and as such, 85% of N1 would still allow the aircraft to achieve it’s maximum operating speeds. However, IRL, this is not a sufficient max as the Longitude, especially when heavy and high, operates at N1 values between 86 and 89+%. So I think the issue is as mdapol mentioned - that WT have created a simple but effective engine limit function with AT, but they used the default Longitude standards for setting the limit, not the real world limits of the Longitude, which are much better represented in my modification package.

I will see if there’s any adjustment that can be made on my side, however, I doubt the issue can be resolved in my mod - it’s likely that the adjustments some of you have made on the WT side are going to be necessary. IRL, the aircraft is limited to about 90% of N1 when at high cruise altitudes. I think setting the value in the WT mod at 95% for cruise AT limit should be sufficient since my mod by design automatically limits max N1 appropriately when at high altitude cruise. At lower altitudes where the engines can and do run at higher N1 values, the AT limit should probably be at 95% or so to enable higher N1 values as would be expected to be available to the real world pilot of the Longitude.

I dont think they do for those value

makes sence, I havent tried at low alt. will change to 95% thx

Confirmed that the change to 95 / 95 for climb / cruise is effective at resolving the problem. Maybe one of you fearless beta testers would be so kind as to reach out to WT and let them know about this issue so they can address in a future update?

Dont know what they will do…

My Cessna Citation Longitude is rolling back and forth after it gets above about 25,000. When it is below the upper altitude it stops rolling. Do I have something set up wrong or is this a problem with the Longitude?

Are you using the modded or stock Longitude?

I really like the WT V5.1 update, it is so much closer to the actual 700.
I also noticed a decline in performance with it.
When I have time I will plot some of our actual test flight data on our 700’s and try to compare the profile between the sim and the actual real data. I just don’t have much time to do any of this due to work schedule and the Fish are biting real good right now. The Real Aircraft is a badass jet, our Pilots absolutely love flying it, we continue to deliver new Longitudes to our Customers and they should be more visible across the country and in the sky as the year goes on, I have to get 11 more completed, flight tested, Airworthy, and delivered in the next 3 months.
Dakfly, thank you so dang much for your time and energy you have spent on this project, I have logged over 210 hours on the 700 in the Sim, it keeps getting better and better and closer to where it needs to be. I just wish I could find someone who can paint me a few liveries to match some of our paints schemes we are putting out on the real units. We have some very sharp looking jets in the works.

Imma be honest, this mod should be a part of WT. Uses the WT g3/g5k, is the only other bizjet ingame, and it would probably get access to DRM files if a part of WT.

I feel the same way too. No good paints for the Longitude. I wish I could paint. Why don’t you point us to some photos and maybe someone could either paint or request (at flightsim.to, maybe) from painters.

I might be able to, but I only do 3D painting in substance painter. So I don’t think the 3D model is available. Feel free to post some photos, though.

Actually, I do have access to the 3D painting file. I’d be happy to paint a few IRL liveries for you. Post a few pictures+their registration here if possible and I’m give em a whirl.

And if you get to paint, make some version without the real life regs so we can take virtual ownership

Is 270 / 0.76-78 still the way to go for normal climb or should be faster?

You can use the high speed climb profile I described with this edition of the mod. 290 kias to 10k, 300 kias to intercept M0.80 (at approx. FL300) and then M0.80 until cruise.

Yeah, I was about to ask this question. Which is the quickest way to get to altitude? Also, Do private jets operate differently from airliners wrt the fact that under 10,000 should be 250 kts or below? I see some cases where they climb at 270 or so.

So, @Dakfly0219, which is better, 250/270 (or 290)/80, or 270/290 (or 300)/80, or 290/300/80?

In the US, it’s always a restriction to keep 250 under 10k. No special rules for private jets.

Anyone know anything about Europe? Off topic: Can someone create KBOS already? I live in the Boston area, and would like to fly into and out of here sometime. I don’t touch generic airports as they kinda kill the immersion for me
