Check the outside air temperature when you’re flying. While Asobo made a hot fix to address temperature issues using Live Weather, I’ve seen reports that there are still issues with temperature spikes and this will trash engine performance. I have zero problems with clear skies or other preset weather but live weather may be iffy still.
Wrt overspeed, temperature can definitely affect your speed and acceleration. Also,Asobo implemented a new “flavor” of indicated airspeed affecting all aircraft, that is particularly inaccurate at high altitudes and high subsonic as well as supersonic speeds that could be a culprit in the overspeed issue. Without more detail I couldn’t say whether that’s what your issue is or not.
I flew from Salt Lake City to Portland yesterday and could not find any problems with the modified Longitude/WT G3000.
I also had an eye on the temperature problems at high altitudes reported by many users.
But up to FL360 everything was without any problems.
I had a 6hr flight yesterday with live weather turned on and only had minor issues.
1st: Sometimes the cockpit knobs do not seem to reflect their correct state or become inresponsive.
Pressing “T” on the keyboard solves this.
2nd: The weather bug only impacted my altitude in some way. ATC reminded me to be 300 ft below my assigned altitude. So for FL440 I went up to 44.300 feet. Further these bugged weather areas were cleary visible.
But all in all it was smooth flight. See here: SimAir.io
A little help pleaSe !( PlS forgive the Sticky keyboard Cap)
In the Longitude withy Dakfly’ 'S Mod and WT 0.7.4 with SU5
Flight froM KSLC to KATL cruiSing at FL 450, GS 465, Tailwind 10knotS, Live weather
N2 at 100.5(conStantly in the Red. IS THIS NORMAL?). M…678( 187 knot), OAT 16C)
I cannot get higher Mach ( deSired 0.82-0.84)
BeSt regardS
I’m not flying with live weather, so am not exactly sure what could be causing the temperatur oddities. I’ll look in to that though. Thanks for the heads-up.
Is anyone seeing issues with the AT? Having an issue at cruise where it’s not engaging. Have speed set, when I turn on AT, throttle goes to zero. Had seen this issue previously, but not for a few months.
Also had issue during my climb, could not switch to FLC with AT on. My normal process is AT set to 250kts with pitch control until 10,000, then FLC at 275 to cruise. Initial 10k climb worked as normal, but had to disable AT for FLC to work.
Started with live weather but had to shut it off due to current bug.
So I finally had time to deep dive this issue. Removed all Mods except 1.84. Still no callouts. Did a fresh install of entire game to no avail. I have no idea!!! Everything updated also via content manager.
That outside air temp is much too high. At that altitude IRL you should be closer to -55C or less. At 16C the plane won’t be able to hold target Mach or develop enough thrust.
It has to be the live weather bug. I had this also with Live weather on. Once I went to a preset, my OAT dropped to what it should have been for high altitude flight.
@Dakfly,
thank you . Some time later in the fligh( 10 mins±he OAT dropped to -65c and the N2 also dropped to 85,7%, I was able to raise the Mach speed . Another 3 mins later , it reverted to the in the red +100.^% N2 .
Is it better to fly without LIVE Weather for now?
best
Breakthrough, don’t know what I did but I can very faintly hear the altitude callouts now. Is there somewhere in the .cfg where the callout volume can be edited/turned up?
I wasn’t able to figure out a way to adjust the base volume of those callouts programmatically. There are sound controls in the general options menus as well as controls for emulating a noise cancelling headset and so on, and I would recommend you experiment with those.
