NOW RELEASED - Shorts Sd3-30 / Sd3-60 and Sherpa project from Blackbox

This information is all contained within the SDK

Yeah we only want current systems so its easier to fly on VATSIM . I am fine with period set airplanes, the hoops to make controllers happy is a bit much but we out here doing it

I apologize if my request for a 750 bothered you. I’m not sure why it bothers you because I’m just asking for the option to have the 750 in the plane.

I’m not obsessed with the 750, I’m not one of those simmers that want a GTN750 in the B314 clipper or the Spirit of Saint Louis. I just want the plane with the avionics that the plane is using today because my passion is to simulate real world flights.

Had the plane been released with a 750 I wouldn’t really mind other users asking for a 400 or an option without a GPS to simulate flights in the past.

It’s a simple task for a dev but not for a user, I really wish I was able to put the 750 in the 3d cockpit and configure it but that is beyond my skills.

I will enjoy the plane anyway but I don’t think my request is absurd considering I’m only asking to be able to fly the plane as it is today and is a simple task for a dev.

But again apologies if it bothered you somehow to ask for this.

I kinda get your point, but Rolls Royce Dart is really something exciting. These engines were really the first turboprops ever in service, they do have some quirks, like water injection, long spool-up time, propeller pitch stops (3 of them, because apparently Rotol didn’t trust their propeller governing mechanisms too much…) and last but not least, the iconic sound that is totally different from the PT6 and its deriatives like PW127. Not to mention these aircraft like the F27 and the HS748 have complicated, analog systems that need to be carefully managed (F27’s pneumatics for example). they’re much more like the DC-6 than modern turboprops in this regard. Take the Viscount or early Friendships. Apart from the engines, they were essentially WW2 era aircraft.

It’s like saying we don’t need F28 because we already have the CRJ

I agree with you that it would be nice to have the option, but once you’ve asked for it, you probably don’t need to keep asking for it, especially if they have given you an answer.

For now, you could just have the toolbar based 750. If it were me, and I could guaranteed there would be no slowdowns, I’d just get one of those fancy hardware bezels, and pop the 750 on to that, and use it on any plane I wanted.

I would absolutely kill to have a Hs748 or F27… Lots of brilliant memories of Mount Cook airlines at my local…

But I do wonder if that will become Just flights domain considering they have them in their shop for fsx… And might port them over along with with the team they have… Might not be feasible for these guys…

But with JF current projects… Might be a wee while…

So if you guys want… I definitely would buy a hs748 or F27

But a J32 would be awesome and keeping with the British theme… One of the last major hurrah in standalone British aviation era…

Still operating as well…

I only asked once, the provocation came from the dev itself.
I got it you are not going to give customers the 750 option but saying they are looking for a new project with a plane that never used a 750 was totally unnecessary I felt mocked.

Sadly they do have a track record for those kinds of responses. Look at the response I got when asking why the ADF receiver audio could not be heard. Asking if I wanted BBC world service as well was kind of funny, but also unnecessary, and a little unprofessional.

:grinning: ha yes, you guys would make good detectives, although I probably gave too many clues on that one !
It was good flying but sometimes got a little ā€œ interestingā€

Oooh, I see what remains of a Shorts Belfast there also?

Provocation now ???
I really don’t think So Sir
and the reference to a new product without GNS750 was QUITE OBVIOUSLY Intended as a joke.

Hopefully the next product without the 750 will have better cockpit textures.
Looking forward for that one.
In the meantime I’m going to fly the 360 for Air Cargo Carriers and enjoy it a lot even if the cockpit is not realistic. I can still enjoy a great flight model.

Just Flight’s HS and F27 belong to Aeroplane Heaven who developed the models and they said they plan on bringing the F27 eventually (ā€œall of their FSX/P3D lineupā€) this is to say, BlackBox would do it much more justice

Yes you do  It was the spares donor to keep the other two airframes flying.

It eventually was scrapped shortly after this picture was taken :frowning:

I was hoping to take this out again tonight after work, so I hope they resolve the Bing Maps issue by then. I’d rather not rely on offline textures, assuming that is how this outage is manifesting itself.

I also need to stop reading outage as outrage, though Bing Maps outrage does pique my interest.

Had one of my first flights last night where I didn’t need to use the mouse for anything. :+1:

That is a challenge. There are a couple of json layout editors at the .to. I wind up doing this process manually.

It requires editing the layout.json file and the aircraft.cfg file–both at the individual livery level–not the master files.

There may be a tutorial on the internet. If not, PM me and perhaps we can work it out–I’m eastern time US.

I didn’t know what to do either, I just downloaded the paint kit from here, then opened it in GIMP and had a play around.

After a couple of days things started to make more sense to me.

I wouldn’t even know where to start explaining it

I suggest you open one of the files from the paint kit and play with the settings and see what results you get.

Yes, there are several tutorials in Youtube. From novice to novice, the simplest technique for me is to make a security copy of a default livery that I don’t particularly like. Then I substitute the DDS files for the versions that I have created with Gimp from the Paint Kit. This way you don’t have to tinker with config files and you only have to learn how Gimp works.

Yes…but you also need to learn how to bundle the new thumbnail and ā€œmanifest and layoutā€ files if you want to have the plane show up correctly in the menu and send up to the .TO.
