I just downloaded version 1.1, deleted the original folder, then installed that version.

They are still obscured, but they are clickable. You can see here I have popped out the anti icing vane one.

Yay Marketplace release! Will be buying this bird tonight, been looking forward to flying this ā€œbeautyā€

The Britten-Norman Islander has for many years been my favourite aircraft in real life, so much so that I went and had a tour the BN facilities at Lee-on-Solent for my 50th birthday. Naturally, when Blackbox brought the Islander (and Trislander) to the sim, I was thrilled - it has been my ā€œgo toā€ aircraft on many occasions, and is easily the most flown in my virtual fleet.

But now the Shorts has been released, and having given it a couple of flights, all I can say it… Fabulous! It’s an absolute joy to fly, and I can see this becoming my new ā€œgo toā€ aircraft from now on. Congratulations Blackbox, you’ve managed to convert a die-hard BN2 fan!

EXACTLY which aircraft is this ? :frowning:

That’s the C23B. I have not checked the others, but will do tomorrow.

I am a recent convert to the Islander and have been flying it non stop since I got it, usually running cargo or passengers between remote airstrips around the world.

Upon seeing this available on the marketplace I immediately put all the variants on my wish list. However, I’m a little unsure about the mission profile of this. As someone who has gone down this particular ā€œupgrade pathā€, can you tell me about the types flights you find yourself doing with the Shorts? Is it kind of airliner lite? Or is it in between an airliner and the Islander? How are its STOL capabilities? Please give me some excuse to buy this beauty.

Well I bought the full package (used my Xbox reward points and got it for Ā£2.48, bargain), so I have access to all the variants - whether it’s cargo runs, delivering the mail (as per the image below), short hop commuter flights, or longer national passenger transport, there’s something here for every occasion. As for it’s STOL capabilities, well… I’m still learning to finesse the aircraft, but I reckon it’ll go anywhere the Islander can, possibly more, thanks to it’s ability to use reverse thrust.

If you enjoy flying the Islander (and why wouldn’t you, it’s a brilliant plane!), I’m certain you’ll enjoy this too.

Xbox reward points? Forgive my ignorance, but how does one accrue those?

General question: I’m interested in the SD360 pax/freighter variant only — what liveries are included for Xbox?

Thanks.

Xbox Rewards: Rewards with Xbox

Here’s the liveries on the 360 passenger/cargo variants:

Judging where an aircraft can go isn’t based on its ability to land there, but wether you can take off again. I learned this the hard way, years ago, landing an MD11 with a lot of braking power and then not being able to get out of there.

Very true! I have got myself stuck a few times (in the sim, lol)

I believe there was a chart comparing the -30/60 variants but cannot find where it was. Could someone point to it please? Thanks in advance!
