Great plane. I always like to try to figure out the systems myself before resorting to a tutorial. So far, so good — got the taxiing sorted without having to continually punch the brakes but one very simple thing I’m struggling to find is a heading selector knob! Just stuck at 360 degs at the moment…
Yep you will find that in its normal position on the Lower left corner of the HSI
Awww… you spoiled my hunt!
So it is! I hovered over it earlier and it said ‘DME mode’ - should have looked a bit harder as DME mode is the outer ring…
Yes DME Mode is the outer ring of the knob
Please disregard, it works.
Interested how you did this, I always end up basically overspeeding!
Open question to all really as well about setting up the Bravo to work with the Shorts!
RPM right down, low-idle, zero throttle. Still need to either tap the brakes every now and again but I prefer a touch of reverse thrust (which is how I believe pilots of the real thing manage it). Will still run away from you if you’re not careful!
Still figuring it all out, only managed to properly set VS in the AP last night! Great aircraft but quite a difference when you’ve been flying the PMDG 737!
I put the C414 away for now and have been learning how to fly this gal. I love the feel of this plane, you can feel her weight, its like flying a Manatee if Manatees could fly.
Big, slow, happy and kind of ugly… like a Manatee. haha
Great work on this NightMercury!
They don’t call it the ‘flying box’ or ‘flying shed’ for nothing!
Flikea
(i’ll see myself out!)
Does anyone know how to get rid of the Co-Pilot? Normally I would just enter his weight as 0 and he would disappear, but not this time.
As long as you aren’t using the tutorial (I believe those are preset), just changing the weight to 0 does work.
I did just that a couple hours ago!
I haven’t had a chance to test this, but in theory changing the following line in the file “flight_model.cfg” for each variant should default it to “0”:
station_load.2 = 180,14.5,1.7,1.5,COPILOT,2
to:
station_load.2 = 0,14.5,1.7,1.5,COPILOT,2
Using the weight and balance menu is the best way as ANY Editing of the base files can easily lead to a Non Working Product ..
Its Also only available to Web Based product and not the Marketplace
The manual explains the vertical gyros and says (p.98)
…Each pilot has a fast erect switch located on panel 1P. The switch is labelled ADI REMOTE GYRO.
I cannot find the switches.
I could do with one of those!
And do we know what systems are simulated? The manual is not clear on this.
As an example, I can start the engines with “ELECTRICAL MASTER” at “OFF” and “START MASTER” at “NORMAL”.
Manifest.json shows version 1.1.0
Hi! I do not know if this have been discused, but there are two bugs in all models, in gps mode the HSI doesn,t work not giving any lateral deviation, and when pause is selected and returning to flight the plane pitch up, like the trim reset or something. Hope this can be fixed for future updates. Thank you!
Autopilot weirdness after pause is a common issue with many planes, not restricted to the Shorts.
Regarding the other issue, yes, that doesn’t work, but almost certainly should. It works on the 530, but not the HSI, as you can see here:
Just illustrating OBS specifically, but it shows no deviation whatsoever no matter what mode you are in, but works just fine for radio navigation.
Please. Add manual to the Black Box website
