Maybe somehow related to this report: Opening the ATC window causes a stutter where they report stutters only when opening the ATC panel, not specifically when ATC communications are occuring.
Yes, quite possibly this is what is happening. I think it may be good to close this out and bring comments/ votes over to the report you mentioned.
Thank you
I posted this in the wrong section yesterday without realizing there was a specific topic
After days and days, I may have finally identified the cause of the repeated stutters in MSFS 2024 beta 1.7.7.0, which are plaguing the simulator on my Xbox and which I’ve discussed in other posts.
It’s not the planes, it’s not the graphics options, it’s not real-time air traffic, or multiplayer.
It’s the ATC window.
I’ve always flown with this window open or minimized to interact with ATC and never had any problems, but with this build, if you keep it open, the frame rate drops irreparably.
I can understand why many simmers didn’t have this problem because they probably fly differently without using the ATC window.
It’s certainly a beta bug that will be fixed, but at least the cause is clear.
This bug has been since SU4 beta. I am getting very impatient now that Asobo is not addressing this issue.
For every issue there’s a thread where many people are very impatient that it is not fixed. I understand the sentiment but also see why it’s very difficult to fix all these things at once. I have hope for this one because it’s bug logged, but not sure for SU5.
I’m sure I saw someone post a couple of weeks ago that this has been fixed in SU5 beta but I’m on the latest and it’s still there as far as I’m concerned. Anyone else still seeing it?
I’m not sure I’ve tested this on the last 1 or 2 builds but certainly in the last few weeks I was able to reproduce this issue in SU5 beta.
It has not been fixed in SU5 beta, including 1.7.22 - win11 steam.
It is just as embarassingly bad as it was since they introduced the stutters in the SU4 beta and then just fully released it like that.
When is this bug ever going to get fixed? The stutters are worse than ever when using the ATC. I get constant stutters every second once the messages start to build up in the ATC panel. As soon as I close it everything is fine again.
It’s even worse than a stutter in the A2A Comanche. The entire plane ‘jumps’ every time you open the Comm panel.
ATC window stutter unsolved in SU6 beta 1.8.5.0
That is insane. I think either they dont care or they dont know how to fix it
Still experiencing this on SU6 beta 1.8.10.0. Relevant system specs are AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE, and 64GB RAM.
Opening any top menu window causes a stutter. I went back through some old videos of mine, and in 2020 this stutter or hitch never existed, at least at the time of recording.
This doesn’t only happen with the ATC window. It also occurs with other windows, such as the weather window or third-party application settings. In other words, it seems to be a problem with the appearance of these types of windows.
However, this doesn’t happen with the EFB, which loads instantly and without causing any stuttering.
Yes, it’s very pronounced on the A2A planes.
Feels like the plane has suddenly hit a vicious speed hump .
Does happen on other planes too, but more extreme on the A2A planes. Would be good to get a fix for this after nearly 2 years.
I’m on PC version with plane downloaded not streamed, does happen when streamed as well though.
I do not understand how such an important feature is not fixed. How else can we get Asobos attention to this. Feels like it wont be fixed. It has been broken since Su4 Beta.
Yes, I ask myself the same question about several bugs.
I suppose it’s a matter of priorities for them, and this is very low on their list.
But to be honest the SU6 beta updates don’t seem major anymore. Reading the changelog, our bugs including the ATC stutter seem more important
Hi folks,
The Development Team have asked that if those experiencing this issue could upload a video showcasing the bug, this may help them further with their investigations.
Please feel free to link any videos you’re able to capture of this bug below!
Thanks
