Allright, Kevin router incoming. I’ll say goodbye to link cable.

How is OXR toolkit going now for you?

It was operating till yesterday on stable version of Meta, but today is broke again

Oculus went ahead and pushed the update despite having been advised of the bug.

guys apologies for the stupid question - can I use Virtual Desktop with an Oculus Quest 2 and a cable link? AirLink is not stable enough in my experience

and it nuked me

Q2 yes, cable no. Needs Wifi

Mbucchia has posted an update on the DCS forums confirming that this issue should be fixed in v69. That said, v68 should never have been pushed when they (Oculus / Meta) were already aware of this bug.

So the release notes for update V68 from Meta talk about reduced latency and better smoothness as a result of the update. Is anyone experiencing this in MSFS VR?

The update has placed my quest 3 into an infinite reconnect loop with a fatal dash error. The previous day I was getting the smoothest experience of my life. It’s a stressful hobby :sob::joy:. I completely uninstalled all meta related software and using VD. VD by far offers the highest quality experience for me personally. However, meta has the oculus mirror app which has several view options, one is getting rid of the FOV mask so you can stream it as a full 1920 x 1080 image and not have to crop and zoom into the game to achieve this. I don’t see an alternative to this on Virtual Desktop unless I’m missing something.

i didn’t used MSFS for 2 years ago. i decide to try it today, it works fine. but if i enable OpenXR toolkit, MSFS refuse to start and crash with openxr…dll VCRuntime40 .
(i’m not using beta branch on oculus, latest driver 1.100).
so sad

Yes, the most recent software upgrade from Meta (v68) has rendered MSFS unplayable if the Open XR toolkit is enabled. You must disable OXRTK. Then MSFs should load as usual.

oh ok. thank you for your reply
And thank you @mbucchia to sent bug report to Meta dev. You are the boss !

Yes, seeing the log in windows event manager about openxr dll failure, i had disable the openxr-toolkit.
Thx you for this confirmation

I went back to v57 for now, until we get a fix

I went from link to VD. Toolkit works there. Surprised about the quality. I am gonna keep it like this. No more crashes anyway and very nice image. Run Taa now with 4000/4000 res :+1:

If you think VD/VDXR/OpenXR Toolkit with TAA gives you the best resutls that’s great mate. I still find that Link at 650mbps, SS = 1.20x, forced 45fps (40fps for me since I use 80Hz refresh with res slider full right), and dlss/balanced gives me the best, smoothest results, without the need to use OpenXR Toolkit. This is with both my Q3 and QPro/rtx4090. Like everything PCVR, everyone’s system and flying style is different so you need to find what works best for you.
