Bit late on this, but if you use NVIDIA CP or app to limit frames, this limit is apparently applied across all DirectX windows. So when you pop out a display you now have two windows and your 40 fps cap is divided between them; hence 20 fps. This has been the case forever as far as I know.

Well… Take care: If your mouse hovers over such undocked MSFS Windows, the flight controls get completely unresponsive. Also reported as bug a couple of years ago, but not yet fixed. Thats also more or less blocking the use of undocked panels.

I wonder if they’ll ever have streaming windows for MSFS. I just tried it in XP12 and it’s outstanding.

It depends how the controller inputs get into the sim. Mobiflight injects and reads signals via SimConnect and WASM. So Mobiflight and similar programs are fairly bullet proof in behaviour. Ive just revisited this today, so I popped out the G1000 to my air manager monitor, and low and behold there was 0FPS impact! Zero! Unbelievable, after all these years it actually works! At last! And it even works with frame gen!
