Oh you meant tbe old Qantas livery with the yellow leading edge sripe along the red (90 livery) Must have been a man look hehehe…
Just a question for real world pilots for this and other aircraft…
What do you guys actually do in real life when entering the aircraft cold and dark in real life… Is it connected to the airbridge when you enter or is there a seperate stairs you go up in, do you walk around with your cellphone screen pointed to the pannels thinking “oh thats right!! I have a torch on my phone!!”
Are there actually lights around that are on or is there enough glare from the teminal to brighten tbe cockpit to find the battery switch and then the lights…
All the fms stuff… is that done while we walk on the plane or is that something you do before the loading has even begun…
Just an insight so i can sorta be as close to real world pilot as possible
Usually the apron lights give us enough light to find the switches.

So I bought the add-on yesterday, completed 3 flights so far and in 2 of them I had problems with the ILS.
On my last flight I approached runway 28 of Zurich Airport (LSZH). The correct ILS frequency has been set (I checked it with Chartfox, the chart gave me the exact same frequency as the plane had automatically set). However there has been weird stuff going on.
- I was already aligned to the runway but the horizontal indicator still was at the far right. When I pressed the Approach button, the plane started turning in the opposite direction (to the left). Totally confusing. There hasn’t even been any runway in that direction.
- The vertical indicator was completely gone. I could see it when I was further away from the airport, at some point it just disappeared. I ended up landing manually by using the PAPI lights.
On another flight to Atlanta the ILS indicators didn’t show up at all so I had to land manually too. The only flight where the ILS has been working as supposed was the one to Shannon.
I don’t exactly know what went wrong there, with the A320 I never experienced something like this. Maybe I did something wrong, maybe it’s the plane’s fault or maybe the game itself messed something up.
Do you insert the frequency in both navs?
Hi, did you solved it? I have a warthog and want the same but tried several bindings but nothing works. Thx
Sometimes when I change my approach waypoints in cruise the whole sim crashes when I press the EXEC button. Does this happen to anybody else?
The trim wheel on this plane keeps grinding constantly after takeoff until I engage autopilot even though I always set the trim before takeoff as per FMC guidance. If I ignore it and keep flying manually for a while then it brings the trim setting to such a level that the plane goes for a dive after engaging autopilot. Is this behavior expected and is there a way to prevent this?
I’ve never had a problem with any ILS in PMDG 737. I recommend to watch some tutorial videos on YT.
First, how are you setting your aircraft weight and balance? Be sure to never mess with ANYTHING in the main sim weight / balance menus and do everything through the FMC menus in the cockpit. If that’s what you’re already doing, make sure you don’t have any control bindings conflicts for your trim controls.
Both are okay in my case. Anything else that I may be missing?
It happens to me as well, but conversely there are times I operate the trim and don’t hear the sound of the wheel. I suspect it’s just some kind of sound sync issue. Certainly when I get the 10 seconds or so of trim sound after takeoff the aircraft doesn’t behave like the trim is being massively adjusted.
Make sure you have the correct approach courses set on both course selectors. I think that will solve your issue.
Also show near bottom of the speed tape once you’ve selected your flaps/speed bugs in the FMC in Magenta.
No never did. Gave up after a couple of hours. If I figure it out I’ll let you know!
Unless I’m missing it in manuals or such, how far out from runway deploy landing gear for landing?
any new news about the upcoming updates?
Delayed again till next week
I usually lower the landing gear when the glideslope is alive, a.k.a. the vertical diamond on your PFD starts falling down. That gives you time to slow down and be stabilized when you intercept the glideslope.
I rather lower the gear too early than too late. You always have thrust if you find yourself too slow.
First updates are always exciting. I assume the EFB will be in the next one (hopefully).
