Update? What update?
PMDG update, see your Operations Center.
Thanks. Release notes here.
Up date did not work for me in VR
Didnāt fix it for me either. Iām at a bit of a loss as to what this update does. What is this supposed to mean if it doesnāt fix the LOD issues in VRā¦
āA few moments ago we pushed the first in a series of updates for the 777 that are primarily focused on stabilizing the LOD changes/breakages wrought by MSFS SU3.ā
Well there is no mention of a LOD fix specific for VR in that postā¦.
If I understand correctly there is a different LOD curve for VR.
Also hope it will be fixed soon.
You are of course absolutely correct. I do feel however that maybe PMDG could have worded the update a little more clearly. I know none of this is the fault of PMDG. I do feel however they might try and enlighten us as to what is going on as we seem to be in some kind of loop of false hopes.
I hope the impending 738 release works in VR. The Fenix is great but I like to keep my hand in with the occasional Boeing.
I can also confirm that the update doesnāt fix the issue in VR.
Iām not seeing this issue anybody craft in VR? Maybe I have this feature turned off?
Well - I already explained to Mathijs that VR has been stable and smooth like never before since SU3 for some of us - I am not sure why, because I am running FS on a good gaming laptop but it is also not close to desktop PC level performance of some peopleā¦
The question really: - is it a sim problem or just affected devs possibly having to adapt and tweak their products to accommodate the new VR LOD curve which I hope will be possible because I do not want to loose the general FPS boost that I have experienced since SU3 in VR - only Inibuilds 350 and PMDG 777 have been adversely affected by the updates and unusable - Fenix as you say is running really well - so does the Inibuilds A300 series (all my other AC are smaller GA planes with no issues here).
Maybe I have also managed to tweak my hmd really well - settling for a lower but stable FPS in order not to compromise with the quality. Dunnoā¦
Once again Iām with you 100%. The smoothness and very little frame loss is the best itās ever been. I certainly hope that it remains so. With the new LOD there is much less pop in and pop out. So Iām all for it. At the end of the day I donāt care who has to fix it as long as it gets done in a reasonable time period.
I fly mainly tubliners so it seems to affect most things I fly. I donāt do GA but I do fly the Hawk for a bit of fun sometimes and that is truly amazing.

The new patch unfortunately does not fix it in VR for me, either.
Well, that is always shown in the release notes.
The LOD issue is part of a pending update. Sorry if there was confusion about this.

Cool, good to hear. Any ETA Mathijs?
I am hesitant to give any timeline.
When will Asobo address the VR issue? Has there been a statement yet?
Itās just disappointing to spend money on planes you canāt fly in VR!
Maybe INI and PMDG put some pressure on Asobo. Respect the customers!
Even with the last PMDG update, my issue is still going on. The 777s do not load correctly in VR. Has it been the same for you guys? My understanding the update would take care of this issue. I have a Varjo Aero.

The last update did not contain these fixes. Sorry if that was expected. They are still being tested and will be released after that is done.
As far as I know, there are no plans from Microsoft to change this behavior, which is why we are doing it.

Thanks for the quick response. Understand. You guys rock!
