I included a picture of the casters. They are fabulous! Rated for 400 lbs each, they ratchet up/down locking in place with a large hard rubber foot.
My full power auto seat is heavy, and so is the custom welded frame I made. Then because I wanted to have the seat at the farthest back position to enter/exit and have the full amount of seat travel available to place the yoke where I want it, the entire assembly is counterweighted. The frame is a little larger than the seat. When the seat is all the way forward overhanging the frame, it required 80 lbs of counterweight. Because I didn’t want a lot sticking out of the back when the seat is in the unused all the way back position, I used 10" long 6"x6" 1/4" L steel , stacked and angled out and back preventing you hitting it with your foot. Then the entire frame was covered by auto carpet…double layered where it sitcks out. So super duty locking casters were required. They work flawlessly…and when I am running out of runway and need to slam on the brakes…it stays put! And when it needs to move…use the built in ratchets and it rolls easily.
