I’m not sure if this counts or not. This is my humble little setup anyway that I wanted to share
Every Cockpit Picture counts……
Hello,
Here are some photos to share the realization of my project this summer.
This project has been under consideration for 3 months. I spent a lot of time making the plans because I had to achieve the following goals:
- Cockpit close to reality
- Light and compact (the panel is 1 meter wide by 40 centimeters high)
- Allow to work on procedures when I can’t fly IRL (For information, I plan to register from spring 2023 to get a PPL).
In terms of realization, once the plans were created on Fusion 360, it took me about 1 week to build the panel.
I still have a few finishing details to do but I can already use it.
I spent about $50 worth of different type of wood but an awful lot of time creating the plans.
Hoping this can inspire other simers
More pictures to come once the system authorized me to post more
That looks amazing
Wow!!! What are / how did you make the dials like that? Is there a screen sitting behind running air manager for example? They look so real!
It’s actually a single screen that displays all the dials with Air Manager.
To have a realistic effect, I drilled a 3mm medium board with diameters of 59mm for the big ones and 46mm for the small instruments.
I then modeled the bezels and finally I drilled to integrate 4 screws per instrument.
Finally, I put a glossy transparent plate between the screen and the wooden plate to have a “glass” effect.
Here is a more details view of the instruments panel. It’s not perfect but the expected effect is here
Welcome to the community. Really well done panel. Congratulations…
Happy simming!
Really inspiring work! How were the instrument black bezels done?
Real Live flying.
Not simulate, that the real thing.
Thanks! I wonder if there’s someone out there willing to print bezels etc in exchange for €$¥£ for those who don’t have access to 3D printers.
Hello, here are the files, you take them to someone in your city so they can print them for you

Hey… found this for sale in Cleburne texas for $500…garage sale this weekend
I think thats a c172
Cockpit build waiting to happen
- (9) Logitech Flight Instrument panels (would have mounted them in a standard 6 pack, but the upper gauges would effectively block half the screen, so the upper three gauges are shifted over)
- (2) Logitech Radio Panels
- Logitech Rudder controls
- Honeycomb Alpha
- Honeycomb Bravo
- (2) Sabrent HB-PU16 16 port usb hubs
- Samsung Odyssey g9
- Oculus Rift CV1 (just dusted off the unit, hoping it helps out with some immerseion, ended up freezing up under stress during a IRL solo stage check)
I must have spent nearly 4 grand on all on this (at least the G9 also pulls it’s weight in my 9-5 engineering work)
Airbus does make a great helicopter! If you want to fly it…Hype has a great one for MSFS the H145 like in your photo. I added a collective and cyclic to my simulator…but its still hard to hover! I fight fires, transport wounded, and on occasion have target practice.
