How did you make your setup? I also want to create something like this, but I don’t know what to buy and how to set it up. I think it would be fun to play, sometimes with a friend or even alone. I would be so grateful if you could help me my discord is thatswhyson. dont forget the dot at the end of my name

Hi all, I have further fine tuned my Comanche cockpit.
Moved some assignments to different switches/buttons so they are closer to the original arrangement in the real cockpit. Added a cover so the wiring is not so prominently visible.

Overview from the left:

and from the right:

Details of the controls:

The tablet:

And this is approximately the view from the pilot’s eye point:

The monitor is a 42" TV with the centre of it exactly in front of my eyes and about 50cm away. To look out of the side window I have to turn my head to the left and to the right for a look at the engine gauges on the copilot’s side.

Flying with this setup feels very natural and immersive.
I’m quite happy with it.

how is the Ipad mounted?

Hi, the mounting is this one and it’s not an iPad but this one.
Works without Google account. I only use the Chrome Browser to display a very basic html file for checklists on one tab and another tab connects to LittleNavMap’s web server that runs on my iMac.

Which head tracker are you using?

Hi Taurine,

no head tracker at all. The big screen makes it (for me) unnecessary.
Also I’m on Xbox as you see in the pics. I couldn’t use one anyway
And I must say I don’t miss it.
I have considered getting TrackIR in Fs2004 times. But thinking about it I found it kind of unnatural — turning your head to the left to pan the view left but moving the view direction of your eyes to the right at the same time to still look at the screen which stays in front of you. May be that’s not so much the case anymore with more modern head trackers but it doesn’t matter for me. I’m very satisfied with what I have.
The only thing I would be doing differently next time around… I would get an even bigger screen — 55" maybe.

Ah, reading again I see you are close enough to have a wide view on the 42in, and look left/right naturally.

One thing I’m looking for is glancing left to identify the runway, to time the final turn lining up with the runway.
Eye tracking is one option, 3 TVs if you have the latest, greatest GPU…and I don’t.

Here’s a replica panel of my 1969 piper Arrow I’m building that I intend to use for Instrument Training.

My H145 Cockpit. I have it on a motion platform. Fully functional with the Hype Performance H145. Next step will be mixed reality vr to bring in the physical cockpit. Sominium space is looking promising. This cockpit is 1:1 to the real heli. Also working adding motorized cyclic base, and collective to utilize beep trim and force trim.

Very well done…Congratulations…keep up the good work.

Looks great!

Did you fabricate the back-lit panels yourself? If so, what method did you use?

You and me both. I’m kinda worried the window will stay still, while my panel moves…

Great Work!

I still find the Class Echo very useful…even with the V1 firmware. It is one of those things I would be “Lost” without because I have gotten so used to it from a reference standpoint.

I like mine as well.
