I am assuming you were replying to me ?
No, I am not arguing for the sake of argumenting. As a place to seek help and assistance, I find Discord to be completely inadequate when compared to a classic internet forum, no matter how dedicated, helpful or friendly the people are. In ADDITION to a forum, Discord no doubt would be great, like any other live chat. On its own, its not.

Well, I can tell you that the Spad Discord channel is 10,000 times more active than their forum ever was (which has since been closed). I am also going to go out on a limb and say you have NEVER been to the channel.
Your logic makes zero sense. Explain to me exactly what the difference is between a dedicated forum and a dedicated Discord channel.

it’s the difference between this site (a forum) and a Discord channel - are you saying there’s no difference?
It certainly allows you to do a lot that default drivers never could. Whether use SPAD, Axis and Ohs or FSUIPC, you’ll be able to customise you experience relatively easily.
SPAD was the only way I could get prop feathering working reliably using just the TQ, and not resorting to a button to engage feathering.
Thats the thing when going out on a limb: you can easily fall off - I have been to their Discord when I did my 2 week trial period.
But perhaps I didnt make this clear enough: I am not talking about the SPAD Discord specifically. I am talking about the difference between a forum and Discord in general.
In a forum I can open a thread and ask my question. Then I can go to work while the rest of the world wakes up since maybe the people that know the answer I need live halfway around the globe. When I come back, I may have an answer or maybe it takes a few days. I can bookmark the thread and revisit any time.
Discord is a chat channel where I have to ask my question and then have to wait around for an answer. One that can easily be missed in an active channel. And if there is no answer rightaway then chances for digging up the original question and possible answers are slim. Even in less active channels its cumbersome and annoying.
Now I will be the first to admit that I possibly dont know everything there is to know about using Discord and that there might be functions that could help but this is the way I experienced it.
Again I will reiterate that I am not dunking on SPAD and their Discord. This is purely about Discord vs. forums.

Which sadly is straying a bit away from the purpose of this thread, which I am guilty of myself.
SPAD has a 14 day free trial if anyone wants to give it a go. Plenty of knowledgeable people on here, or on their Discord that can answer any questions about it.

You can open threads in discord too…
As was I with my first reply here:
Having said that, I know a lot of people use it for voice chats during gaming. I hear it’s good for that.
To be fair to Discord, the Search function does work pretty well and I’ve found things I’m looking for on the Spad discord when I’ve needed to, but as SaucierPen has said it can be easier to find information ‘you’ need on a forum, rather than Discord. A Discord community is only as good as the channels that have been setup for it, it can easily turn into a mess if there’s no structure.
But the same issue applies with a web-based forum. Either is only as good as those who organise it and administer it. The search funcion on Discord is far more powerful though, which is a plus point. I find trying to find stuff on AvSim or the FS developer forums kinda maddening.
