Random "Plane crashed" screen while taxiing in career mode

If this bug is the same one I’ve been having, it’s due to having the pop-out EFB, and so only happens in aircraft that don’t have the EFB as part of the built-in panel. It sounds odd but if you close the EFB when taxing then the plane won’t crash.

It’s better described in this thread Aircraft Hit 'glass wall' on the ground when the EFB is open

Description of the issue:

In Career Mode, during the final taxi to the gate, a message suddenly appeared saying that the aircraft had crashed.

This is a truly epic fail.

I spent an hour planning a flight from Los Angeles to New York, then another half hour preparing the aircraft. I took off and spent more than 5 hours in flight (without using simulation rate acceleration). Along the way, I encountered an IRS failure (when both the map and the attitude indicator on the PFD completely fail, the IRS switches do nothing, and even the ALIGN light doesn’t come on).

I had to fly the approach twice because the autothrottle failed as well (again, a bug). Still, I managed to overcome all of that and was already taxiing to the parking stand. I was less than a minute away from the blue marker at the gate. There were no obstacles at all, and all parked aircraft were far away.

And then… “Mission failed.”

Almost an entire day of my weekend was wasted — for what? Just to see this message and start all over again?

Is this really a game worth paying $120 for? I was even considering upgrading to Aviator Edition — but now that’s definitely not happening.

Dear developers, you simply cannot release such raw, unfinished garbage for sale. This feels like outright mockery of the players, in my opinion.

And this is far from the first time that various bugs prevent missions from being completed in Career Mode. Only about two out of five missions actually end successfully — at best.

While I don’t have interest in career mode myself and can’t really speak on the amount of problems it has this isn’t a $120 game problem as issues are present in the $60 version too. In fact the 737 is in the $60 version.

The money is gone, now all you can do is learn from it. Many, including me, were dazzled by the laurels of MSFS 2020. If a successor to 2024 ever comes, I will wait and see.

Make sense. In next version I will wait too…

The next release is definitely not a day one purchase for me like FS2024. This time i wait for the reviews and feedbacks.

Can I politely ask why the voting for this thread is closed?

I am not seeing it as closed:

I’m not showing it closed either.

It has now allowed me to vote. The box did say closed when I changed to follow the post that was moved to this thread. This is why I asked. Thanks for looking into it. Something made it change.

Encountered once with a freelance career flight from WSSS to KJFK with A330-200. I flew over 18 hours and landed safely at KJFK, then when on ground taxi with a pretty long taxi distance, it said me crashed.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• yes

•Description of the issue: Playing career mode, as a freelancer, missions report crashes and damage the plane and ends the mission when there are no crashes or damage. This ends the mission as a failure, destroys my plane and my reputation.

1st time: doing a flightseeing mission out of hamilton (CYHM) in a 172. Took off, flew mission, setup approach, was going 65kt, 2 red 2 white lights on papi. 200 feet agl screen pops up saying i have crashed my plane, injured the client. Every system was completely damaged, reputation drastically affected. Ended up selling plane and starting over with employee missions.

2nd time: bought an xcub to do SAR mission. Had done several successful as an employee. on first freelance SAR mission, take off, fly to search area. Find the target, do flyover and land successfully. Secure the aircraft (parking brake, engine off etc). Exit the plane walk to the car, triggers the next stage so person is in the plane. Walk back to plane, and as I’m getting there, screen pop ups, saying you have damaged your aircraft (that was stopped. powered down, on the ground, and I was 20-40 feet away from ) and failed the mission. No actual damage registered on aircraft, though reputation took a very large hit.

This is extremely frustrating and demoralizing. It was not a small purchase to buy this, not to mention the other things I had to buy to make up for other shortcomings on the program.
