I’d like to add on the comment of scanning charts with AI. For example, here is the airnav site for KDEN, and then the current airport diagram.
While the text is random, it is selectable. Also, since it’s an actual PDF, the resolution is technically infinite. I have never worked with AI before, but I can see someone at least implementing it in some way.
However, one thing that is slightly concerning are complicated areas like this:
Even just looking at that, I have a little trouble making out the taxiways without looking closely.
Also things like this that point out PADs and TWRs. I’m not sure how to tell an AI how to deal with that:
Though, I’m sure people familiar with programming them can provide some insight. Maybe it’s easier than we think since it’s grayscale? I would guess finding actual taxi-lines from nav data would also be important, since these charts don’t provide them.
Open Street Map seems like a feasible way to do this too. Many airports have accurate taxiway names on it. Not all, but a lot of airports. Would be better than nothing. http://openstreetmap.org
I dont understand how even the “handcrafted” airports come without gate/ramp/parking stand numbers neither ground markings nor wall mounted plates. This has been standard in every sim so far…
They seem to be named anti-clockwise a-> whatever.
What is really annoying is that there are PDFs from every European and USA country that are easily accessible and can very easily show them the correct names.
My local airport told me to taxi A,D and should have been D,A.
What’s worse, is if you use the taxiway arrows (which we have to now as the taxiways are all the wrong letters, they point you into a field instead of onto the runway - very bad at night at an airport you don’t know !!!)
If everyone wants accurate taxiways before Asobo gets to it I recommend this…https://simtoolkitpro.co.uk/ Moving maps and accurate taxiways for every airport along with a large number of other features. Been using it since X-Plane 11 and I’m glad its available in MSFS as it has made my life easier.

20 kts for a 747 I guess. Don’t know of any official regulations that don’t essentially say “taxi at a safe speed” and it’s likely per-airline, but 20 kts is normal.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve got Navigraph Charts which essentially does the same thing too. Still is an immersion breaker though - wish the signs were realistic
That’s not what we’re asking for, but thanks for sharing anyway. The issue is taxiway signage within the scenery so that those of us that like flying without moving maps can realistically navigate the ground and feel the immersion.
Am I the only one experiencing an issue with taxiway designations from ground control? At every airport I go to, ATC tells me to use taxiways that don’t appear to exist on the appropriate airport diagram; meaning the letters appear to be incorrect or it tells me a letter that doesn’t appear on the diagram at all. I use Skyvector, which I found to be accurate when I used to fly IRL, but it doesn’t seem to line up with what the sim tells me to do. Am I missing something, or is this a real problem?
