[RELEASED] Miltech Simulations MH-60, in Partnership with Blackbird!

Just bought this last night as my first heli purchase in the sim. I’ve been flying airliners and GA since the launch of 20, but never got into heli’s for some reason until now. WOW, i’m blown away. This thing is amazing. Two questions though for chopper veterans.

  1. The rotor brake. I’ve binded it. When do you use it though? The only time i’ve used it so far in the few flights I’ve done is when I land before shut down. I turn it on the blades stop spinning which is what I expected. Any other applications?

  2. When in crew hover I want to go to the door position and still control lateral and longitudinal movement. What do I bind those to?

That’s all it’s for, but wait till after the engine is shut down. Without the brake the rotor would keep spinning for a very, very long time. Especially on a big heli like this those blades have an enormous amount of inertia.

Thanks! Appreciate it.

I bought the UH 60 helicopter and the Mission Hub add-on.

My opinion about the helicopter:

  • Exterior model is very high quality, professional work, premium quality

  • Cockpit is very high quality, professional work, premium quality

  • I really like the sound package, realistic

  • Amazing, high quality paint variations

  • Amazing effects

A big congratulations to the development team. They did a professional, quality job. This helicopter is a great experience. My new favorite.

My suggestion:

  • I don’t like the flight model. I know that this helicopter is different from other helicopters because of the stabilization systems. In my opinion, this flight model needs improvement and development. It is very difficult to turn realistically with the helicopter. To me, it looks like the behavior of a drone and a plane combined.

  • What I would like to ask is that the development team not downgrade the quality of the cockpit texture. I love 4K, sharp textures, and I have the right computer for it.
I would be very happy and suggest that the developer replace the texture of the panel element marked in the attached image with a 4K, pin-sharp resolution texture. This texture is blurry and spoils the overall picture. The edge of the panel is constantly in sight, so it would be fantastic to see a high-resolution, sharp texture continuously.

I also tried the Mission Hub add-on. Infinite number of mission variations. Simply fantastic. It opens up new possibilities, Microsoft / Asobo could learn. All my appreciation.

I can only recommend both products to everyone!

Thank you again to the development team, and I trust in their further support and development.

Unfortunately, we cannot base flight dynamics on subjective opinions. Our flight model is cross-referenced with data and validated by pilots of the type:

This is a highly stabilized machine; many of the behaviours that typically make a helicopter “difficult to fly” have been dampened by the SAS System. Regarding turns, at speeds under 50-60 knots you would primarily use pedal, while at higher speeds you may use cyclic only as the turn coordination is automatic. You may need to add some pedal, but generally cyclic-only should be enough.

Please also consider that you may have assists turned on, and you may want those off depending on the hardware setup: Force Trim System | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

We do keep full-resolution textures for all copies distributed on our website and IniBuilds, and offer a separate “Low VRAM” package to those who wish to install it.

Marketplace distributions (PC, Xbox) do have a lower VRAM, downscaled version of many textures. This is both due to Marketplace filesize constraints, and due to platform-specific memory constraints. If you have purchased the product on PC on the MS Marketplace, you can contact us to transfer your copy to our website.

Otherwise, thanks a lot for your feedback and comments!

This prompted me to make a couple of purchases from your website directly. Would it be to my benefit to transfer the ships as well? I’d prefer to stream them if I wouldn’t see any difference.

No difference on the ships, same texture quality etc.

A small bug or two to report! Not sure if this is the place to do it. I’m on Xbox.

Oftentimes in flight on the “EFIS”/status area where you would see “landing light on”, “boost pump on” etc it will stop working or registering in flight. I.E. It will say “landing light on” when it’s not on anymore. Or i will turn the search light on and it will not show that it’s on. Not sure if that has been reported, but I wanted to relay that along to you.

Also, when I go to the online flight planner and map coordinates and send them to the aircraft, i’ll go into the NAV page and input the code it’s given me. The flight plan will load on the screen, but when you hit either ACK button to load it into the map it will not load. It’s as if the ACK button just stops working in that instance. Due to this it’s not possible to load flight plans even though the data transfers successfully to the aircraft.

Outstanding work by the way. My first heli purchase after years of only flying planes and I’m absolutely hooked.

Flying 2020 or 2024 if in 24 it’s Gunna have issues as it’s a port and not everything works correctly currently native 24 should be here next week with a free upgrade

Am in there discord so often see these questions

That being said tho you may have found something as I haven’t seen anything about that yet

I’m in 2020! Should’ve mentioned that. I don’t believe we can fly the MH60 in 24 yet.

Yea it will say currently incompatible but it works in 2024 I’m on Xbox myself and only use 2024 now

Weird, i bought it in the 2020 marketplace, but when I go to my library in 24 it’s not there for me to enable/download etc. Can’t even find it in the marketplace on 24. How did you navigate that?

Should be in your my library just disabled, jump on the discord link I messaged you and ask in there I’m unsure as I bought it and it transferred almost immediately the Devs even used me to test something after the purchase

Also Gabe, Vasy, Dan and the rest of the Miltech team keep up the great work can’t wait for the ch53 and skyraider

It’s not on 24’s Market yet, but you can buy it from their website assuming you’re not tied to Xbox.

It’s on 2020s marketplace and will port to 24 for Xbox users

This is consistent with a “coherent crash”, in which the gauge crashes partially or entirely. It may also happen with the Map, hence why you see that the behaviour when loading flightplans.

We have identified a potential cause for this, and are working on an update that includes a fix candidate for this issue. As a temporary solution, just restarting the flight should work.

It is not available on 2024 Marketplace (yet, should release next week), however it should port automatically and show up on your Library.

I flown it a few minutes yesterday, and it crabs when I try to do a turn, I have read now here that to hand fly it, it is “mandatory” deactivate the SAS autotrim, I will test today.

Another thing is that the main rotor blades in online users does not exist or they are transparent haha.

In VR it is ok, a bit more big some things like the seat IMO, but no problem.

I have to disable also those voices screaming haha, I guess there is an option somewhere.

Will be in the own FS24 mission system?

This is not correct. SAS should never be deactivated, and “Trim” is a configurable option that will depend on your hardware setup and desired flying mode (but does not have any impact on crabbing/turning). More info here: Force Trim System | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

To turn:

  • AFCS Off, speed under 50: pedal only
  • AFCS off, speed above 50: cyclic first, slight pedal may be necessary. Turn coordination is more effective at higher speeds, at lower speed ranges you may need some pedal to prevent slipping.
  • AFCS on, under 50: only pedal is sufficient in any AP Mode
  • AFCS: >10% cyclic input is required. There is a deadzone to prevent ghost inputs changing heading. Pedal as reqd. Please also note that at speeds above 50 you will be “fighting against the autopilot”, hence it is recommended to configure the temporary autopilot disconnect keybind: Keybinds Guide | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

This is most likely due to the FS24 Ported version. Keep in mind that if the aircraft is purchased on the 2020 Marketplace, you currently get a “non creator approved port to 2024” which will have bugs such as these. The native, approved FS24 version is set to release in a few days.

Dimensions are cross referrenced from our in-person survey, everything is to scale

Keyset (Pilot Side FMC) - COMM page, AUD CONFIG submenu. Deactivate GPWS and Crew Chief.

Mission Hub is a separate addon, available now for FS20 and 24, for PC on miltechsimulations.com

Will release on marketplace for 20/24 PC/Xbox in a week or two.

Thank you!

Is that simulating the real MH-60?, with pedal always you can turn yes, and disabling SAS and trim I didn ´t watched almost any difference in “sportive” flying close to ground, I think…, travelling yes better SAS ofc, really ok and enjoyable. Even with speed above 50 or at 140 I need help with the pedals for more sharp turns, not a more problem neither, funny anyway.

Thanks, yep also, the seat in VR is correct I think, and a quality and good photorealist interior modelled, and exterior.

Yep again, the rotor in online is there in FS20, I watched it almost from a horizontal position during some seconds the first day and I didn´t observed, but is there, thanks!

Thanks for the hints and support!, great helicopter!
