The vj usually remembers these for me.
I understand your frustration. The thing that reduced my CTDs was removing the nvidia sound drivers. Not saying that is your problem, but I think it is worth a try, since you probably use other drivers for sound.
Hmmm, my system uses Realtek drivers for sound as default. If the Nvidia sound drivers arenât used, can they still cause a conflict that can occasionally cause a CTD? Just wonderingâŚ
Just finished a flight with no CTD. I removed everything in my Community folder, and on a suggestion from another user greatly reduced the map settings in the plane to help reduce memory usage. I do have 32GB of system ram along with my 8GB video ram. Iâll start adding some things back into my Community folder and see what happens as far as that goes.
I did find that DX12 didnât agree with my system and I had CTDs on the regular before I switched back to DX11. Maybe worth considering.
Already on DX11 with TAA; thanks for the suggestion though.
If your crashes are happening in the ~45-90 minute range, turn off AI Offline traffic if it is turned on.
But that wouldnât apply if you can always fly other planes for up to 90 minutes without crashing.
I came back to flight simulation after years and Iâve just found about FlightFX Cirrus SF50 recently, when looking for business jets. Excelent plane but I have some questions.
- Where are the NAV frequencies and course knobs? I just found a way to tune them in audio panel, but nothing else.
- When we change the fuel unit it doesn´t show in engine status bars. Fuel flow keeps on GPH and no KPH.
As you say, COM can be changed here, either by entering the frequencies in the pad, or rotating the top right knob:
For NAV frequencies, you can adjust these here:
ADF is all the way at the bottom:
To use the ADFâs, set those here:
I think this aspect of the G3000 is a little cumbersome as you donât have an individual instrument interface for each. I tend to use my Logitech Radios for setting these externally, so kind of a crutch in that respect.
Awesome explanation.
I also use the Logitech radio panel but adjusting the ADF is a PAIN, lol. Luckily itâs almost never used but I prefer adjusting it through the G3000 rather than the radio panel.
Yes, as I mentioned, I saw this way to change frequency, but no way to set radials. I saw the bearing also. But with OBS function itâs probably obsolete⌠Iâm just a old guy hanging on old technology! hehehe!
Old works, and makes for an interesting alternative. Even in this thing, it can be fun to create a flight, and only use VORâs to navigitate.
Can anyone help, I imported a simbrief flight plan inserted an approach but didnât activate the approach. Once in the air I enabled autopilot, nav button enabled, set to FMS, but AP did not follow plan, in the end the only way I managed it was by activating the approach, but that cut some of my flight plan, instead ap went direct to approach phase waypoint.
Not sure what I did wrong.
I think you need to activate the approach prior to the IAF. The other thing you could have tried is a âDirect Toâ the IAF.
Itâs likely obvious but what does IAF stand for?
Thanks
Initial Approach Fix.
Thank you, although my initial issue was AP not following the general fight plan from simbrief, perhaps it was because I loaded the approach (although I did not activate). Next time I will select the approach later in the flight and see if that solves it.
Four segments, first is IAF, Initial Approach Fix, followed by IA, Intermediate Fix, then the Final Approach Fix (FAF). THe fourth segment, God forbid, is MAP, Missed Approach FixâŚ
I just went into the rabbit hole of flying a C152 using VORs and steam gauges, and that led me to getting the Black Square Analog Caravan so I can at least have an autopilot. Old school navigation is fun! But sure nice to have glass cockpits and easy peasy flight plans with GPS too.
I recently came into this issue and didnât remember anything about it before. While flying FFX Vision Jet, either from cockpit or outside view, my FPS drops from 30 to 10 every 3-5 seconds. I tried tuning down graphics but that is not helping. I could see GPU usage also suddenly dropping, which alerts me about potential VRAM issues, however I have no clue exactly what is wrong. I had no problem flying the ATR, so I guess this might be an addon problem rather than AAU2? I wonder if anyone had the same issue, thanks!
