MSFS2024 feels like big “beta”
It selfs and more like a game than a simulator.. I maybe cancel my CE and rejoin a few months later perhaps. MSFS24 is huge disappointment.. as a hardcore simmer sense FS95🙄

I didn’t spent thousands of dollars on M.2 drives all for my simulators to be streamed through a LAN port.
NOBODY asked for the planes, textures, and even main menu to be streamed. ONLY THE WORLD!!!

I agree. I unfortunately live in an area that, due to circumstances outside of my control, has bad internet.
I’ve spent almost £3k on a PC spec I hope to be suitable for modern titles, especially MSFS2024. I have so far been able to load MSFS2024 and run it on ultra settings - but this isn’t reflected in what I see because I don’t have the bandwidth to download practically everything, so it’s blurry textures, cockpit textures missing - before they suddenly pop into place 10 minutes later.
I look forward to marketplace opening to locally save some of this content, but the fact everything is reliant on it is painful. And I’m still worried I’m not going to be able to save the content like I could in MSFS2020.
I’m a PC gamer, because I want to overcome the limitations a console has. I shouldn’t have to face console related limitations just because the title has had to be designed around the fact consoles don’t have great storage space. It’s a sad state of affairs seeing the Flight Simulator title degrade overtime because it’s had to work better for consoles.

The way how all default planes are permanently streamed is redicolous!
If the network is under load and download speeds are slow or degraded the cockpit textures are blurry, paints are incomplete, model parts are missing or LOD is wrong!
Plus the plane textures and data arent even saved in the rolling cache.
So everytime I fly a default plane…full download, which does not work correctly atm and even during flight the textures become blurry when switching views and it is hard to reload all that withing a splitsecond!
The design decision to make the planes 100% stream only is completely wrong and not in the interest of anybody! Plus it uses bandwith without need! Why stream a plane I could easily store on my SSD all the time if network load is too high anyway? Does not add up for me!
Please MS/Asobo make the planes and even airports I select manually fully downloadable!

We really need to have the option to donwload an store airplanes and airports locally.
This is NOT netflix.

Very well put. Several default aircraft have been saved for use only by being able to mod them, and you describe the community participation which is core to the success of the franchise well.

Is it possible that its encrypted because as of now its only being streamed when its downloaded it may be different?
Absolutely. We truly need an option to have the aircraft downloaded into our pcs.

I am not 100% sure why aircraft are encrypted, but I can agree that they should make able for modders to make changes.
As long as their changes are free and are improvements for base product.
Something like FBW for A320neo in FS2020.
At least if I am developer/company I would be happy that someone is willing to do improvements for free.
Maybe there is some good reason, something about security.
But at least they could release paint kit for every aircraft, so we can get liveries. I think that is not too much, they already made some liveries, so they must use some kind of paint kit.
Or they want to shift from free liveries which can be find on flightsim.to, to paid liveries. If that is true, than that will be “shot in the leg”. I do not want to pay for livery, if that was free for years and year, why to pay now. Especially if we have people willing to do it free. I made some liveries my self in FSX and post them for others to download.
And yes, be able to download aircraft on our PC that I can say is an option that we must have. Because this streaming is not working well. I appreciate that they want to make something to use less disk space, that is great idea, but currently not working good.
I would download some of them and I am ready to spare my disk space for those aircraft. Afterall FS2020 is using 500 GB on my PC.

If it was not for planes being unencrypted FBW would have never developed the A320 Neo and MSFS would have been ■■■■■ to say the least.
Microsoft, allow the community to make your sim better, it is a no brainer, if you guys went into asking third devs to develop for your sim this should have been discussed with them.

I really hope the team behind the sim listens to this feedback, as it seems like they’re digging their own grave at the moment. I know that the sim has only been out for just a few days but when we pay this much we could at least expect to get something.
See it like this, when we pay for something we expect to get some sort of a physical item, or maybe a file. But in this case I have paid 140€ for a streaming service, I don’t even get to own the aircraft I have paid for. That seems strange to me.
My MSFS2020 takes up close to 1TB of space, I’m a real sucker for huge amounts of addons (that’s being both paid ones like PMDG aircraft or Orbx scenery but also hundreds of flightsim.to liveries and so much more by the community). I mean one of the best things about 2020 (and other sims) is the fact that we get to experiment with liveries, texture mods, scenery… that’s part of the flightsim community.

Working Title started as a group of modders. Think if they couldn’t access the planes because of encryption.

agreed. imagine the g1000 g3000 the 787 the 747 and so on without working title before their work was adopted to be standard.
