I have yesterday interesting experience, Vatsim flight. Mostly no prob with save and load fpl,flights. Selected after some time PA34 and had 3 times ctd at same place approaching LOWL, servers problem probably. Each load of flight was ok but some switches wasn’t set as was during flight. After 3-rd ctd and load flight what a surprise, all was restored fully (no fpl filled)! What was missing only were Airspaces. Now give yourself quest what is matter here.
As far as I am concerned, basic functions should have worked from start but still has come a long way from this.

I agree. Having the game not function as intended is a nuisance. Being able to fly anywhere I want to keeps me coming back. Hopefully the bush trips get some more fixes in the near future.
That version really got me pretty familiar with Nav radios when I started flying.
We need a way to do a complete save so we can pickup where we leave off. That would be as real as it gets.
In the real world if I fly some place and stay over night and continue my flight the next day. When I get back to my plane it is exactly where I left it and it is in the same condition as I left it. … Or at least most of the time

Thanks a lot. Saving the flight plan before clicking on flying, is what prevents them from getting lost.

And I tried the solution posted by Odboudain last year, following that process in detail. Whatever worked then, does not work now.
There seems to be a bug with Saved Flights now.
I submitted a Bug for another problem with my saved Flight.
What is desired is a Save/Load flight feature that is identical to a flight being paused (i.e. saved) for an indefinite period of time and then resumed (i.e. loaded) with EVERYTHING, but live weather, being in the EXACT SAME STATE as when pause occurred. The current state of this feature is of such little value that it’s effectively useless for me.
Hello, Would be able to load the game wherever I landed in the exact spot, exact aircraft state and also been able to change weather or have live weather + been able to change the time OR have live time? I am missing this feature from FSX.
It is really important for places without parking slots or even without airports (Like SLA STOL bush flying landed somewhere on meadow or hill or near the river).
This sim is mainly VFR, allow us to fly proper VFR bush flying backcountry STOL please. Allow us to save the sim before leaving and load in the exact state (like 20% fuel in left wing and 30% in right and GPS load like we left it.) Please.
It is just ridiculous that such a basic core function like save and load still does not work properly after 2 years.
C’mon pilots, this post need some love! Lol.

Ah! I didn’t realize there were other ways to “save/load”. When you said “load anywhere in the world”, I assumed you meant in the world flight planner.

I agree. It would also be great to change aircraft. Fly from point A to B, Save, Come back later and load, change aircraft and be on your way.

Create flightplan on world map.Load on to runway. Move to gate . Flightpan still exists in avionics. Save flight. Load flight . Flight plan is gone and unrecoverable

Please Asobo great avionics update , but as useless as a chocolate teapot if cant save and load a fligplan . Yes I know you can do it manually .

A Flight Plan can only be saved from the World Map and is a .pln file.
(or from Simbrief , Little Navmap)
When you click FLY and leave the World Map, you can only
save a flight which does not have any Flight Plan info because it
is saving the location of the plane only and without any avionics, etc..
Save your Plan before you leave the World Map.

I may be wrong but I think the OP may not be referring to the Flight Plan per-say. I think he is referring to flight plan, aircraft states, fuel quantity etc. There are a number of things that don’t get saved so you can’t really resume a flight.
It not “As real as it gets”.
In real life you might have to stay overnight and resume the next day.
