Should I get the Black Square King Air or the Flysimware C414AW Chancellor?

How are the AAU2 787 and 747 updates linked to an autopilot in the BS Kingair and where is this official?

The black square King air works fine in AAU2.

Feeling like y’all have not only sold me the 414, but convinced me to grab a Black Square plane or two as well.

That’s the spirit!

All of the Black Square airplanes are great and the 414 is on my short list.

Taking this idea into account, I would personally choose the KA. In my opinion, it is the more typical charter aircraft.

I myself only own the KA, and it’s fantastic. I never dared to try the 414 because of the constant updates. Somehow I have the feeling that the aircraft is not yet fully developed, because a new update is constantly being released.

The updates at this point have been mostly minor tweaks and the aircraft is still fantastic if you have the latest iteration or one from five updates ago. The updates are up to you to make the choice to install. The developers are very active on their Discord channel and are constantly discussing the aircraft, its progress and prospective changes with the users. So they are not just out there tossing updates into the wind, they are responding to user feedback and suggestions in a very realistic manner. Yes, they have made some mistakes on some of the updates but they have owned up to them and corrected them in short order. In contrast to the deafening silence of some other developers, FSW has been extremely welcoming and grateful for the community support that they have received and I think that the incredible progress that the 414 has made is a reflection of that.

Flew both on VATSIM yesterday for a few hours each and are most certainly “VATSIM ready”. Both are very fun in my opinion though I enjoy the fidelity of the King Air a bit more and the enhanced cockpit mod just adds icing to the cake. If I could only pick one it would be the King Air. I really like the random failures simulation as it keeps you having to keep checking things.

With no experience whatsoever to back this up, the 414 just feels to me like it has the best flight model out of anything I fly currently. Whether it is the combination of NPS, CFD etc. I have no idea, it just feels right, as does the ground handling.

Not minor tweaks at all.

When they decide to change external control and it takes almost a days work to amend them all and then a couple of days later one of the changes was changed again to something different again. It’s just poor planning and un-necessary. Nice aircraft shame the dev has forgotten the aircraft has not been in early release for some time now. By all means improve it but perhaps a better approach would have been a version 2 like black box did for the Islander rather than pushing out continual production builds as if it were early release. No sooner have you installed one another one is out which considering how slow the FSW download is makes it a pain. Luckily I can go back to a previous version when stuff gets broke as it often does with this little amount of testing prior to release, but others are not so lucky and that’s why it’s bad form in my book.

I agree. I can’t argue with anyone that tells me what is wrong since I have no base of knowledge but it sure does feel “right” and I enjoy the heck out of flying it around.

I’ve got both, and have flown similar versions of both in real life. My vote is the King Air, hands down. Some bells and whistles would be nice to have (pax, efb, doors, chocks, etc), but for the sheer depth of systems, the incredible accuracy of the flight model, and rock solid reliability of the developer, the King Air in my mind is a no brainer.

The reason I can’t recommend the 414 is because it feels like a shell of the real thing. Yes, there are quite a few ‘nice to haves,’ but the depth of systems are lacking. Power settings still don’t match reality, by quite a bit. Flight model doesn’t feel as stable as it does in reality…it feels flimsy, where as the real thing is one of the most stable planes I’ve ever flown. Also the developer updates this thing DAILY. It’s extremely annoying. I just turn off notifications and update it every other month or so, since I mostly fly the 310 and King Air.

I didn’t think the Black Square products even touch the flight model. I thought they were systems, and panel only. I have both so I’ll check tonight.
