Seriously? As has been mentioned, kill it in Task Manager.
I think (Erasam) thought there was a workaround that keeps it from hanging instead of our work around to just kill the process
Luckily it’s not the usual recommendation of uninstall the sim, reformat your hard disk, re-install windows, move to X-Plane 12 sequence 
That would be a fix, not a workaround.
I would estimate that on my PC; I have this issue every 1/10 sessions; I am not sure if it got better with SU2, but I think it possibly does not occur as much, as with earlier builds. It’s not such a big issue for me, but it’s a bit annoying having to force close MSFS, and I think, if you made some changes to the user settings, these get lost.
No repro since December? The votes are going up here. I think this is not such a rare issue.
I wish it was only 1/10 sessions. With the current build, I’m probably 1/2 sessions. Something changed.
