Sim Update 3 Beta (1.5.7.0) Release Notes - June 13th, 2025

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 flighting update 1.5.7.0 is on track to be released to the public flight groups on all platforms today (June 13). Please note due to some last minute delays with our publishing pipeline, it may still be several hours before the update shows up. We are working to resolve the issues with the publishing pipeline now, but are posting these release notes in advance as it’s unclear precisely when the update will become available.

Multiple active investigations are in progress for the performance issues reported on Sim Update 3, but we need your help!

We’re continuing to narrow down cause of the performance issues, and have added additional telemetry to the latest SU3 flighting update (1.5.7.0) to aid our investigation. :police_car_light: Please note 1.5.7.0 will cause severe performance degradation around large airports and when restarting flights (most severe on Xbox Series X|S) :police_car_light: . However, the data and feedback you provide is critical to solving these issues.

If you no longer wish to participate in Sim Update 3 flighting, please follow the steps at the bottom of this message to opt-out.

To opt out of the Insider Program, navigate to https://www.flightsimulator.com/profile/, and at the bottom of the page select “Opt Out” under the Insider Program Opt Out section.

MS Store

If you have joined the Microsoft Flight Simulator Beta in the Xbox Insider Hub, you will still need to follow the same instructions to unenroll.

  1. Open the ‘Xbox Insider Hub’ app.
  2. Navigate to ‘Previews’ > ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator Beta’ .
  3. Select ‘Manage’.
  4. On the left side, select ‘Leave preview’.
  5. Wait for the unenrollment to complete, restart your Xbox or PC, then launch the game.
  6. PC Users: If not on a Custom path, you will have to reinstall the sim to restore the prior build.

Steam

  1. Open your Steam Library
  2. Right-click Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
  3. Click “Properties”
  4. Click “Betas”
  5. Select “None”

RELEASE NOTES Sim Update 3 Beta - 1.5.7.0

If you are playing on PC, outdated packages in your community folder may have an unexpected impact on the title’s performance and behavior.

If you suffer from stability issues or long loading times, move your community package(s) to another folder before relaunching the title.

Please note that build 1.5.7.0 includes a stability tracker which should have no noticeable impact on performance. If/when you notice too much VRAM being used, please complete the following steps:

  • Take a screenshot with DFPS enabled
  • Send the report to the developers by navigating to Options > General > Experimental > Create a report

Stability & Performance

  • Fixed the Controls menu to cache data and prevent unnecessary file loads when navigating, only loading input profiles when entering the menu tab, switching aircraft, or creating, duplicating, or renaming a profile.
  • Fixed several old and rare crashes in the stall warning simulation system.
  • Fixed a crash occuring in the model behavior parser when cancelling a request (rapidly clicking tiles in the aircraft selector)

  • Fixed crash in ObjectFollowGraphAI when a NavigationGraphNode is destroyed before ai or AI destroyed before the node

Physics

  • Blocked reading of the “empty_inertia_tensor” parameter in the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] section of flight_model.cfg, along with all related fixes for MOI calculation and rotational dynamics: the feature is moved from SU3 to SU4.
  • Updated the “Debug Aircraft Weight” tool to perform the same validation checks on MOI as during aircraft mass properties loading.
  • Downgraded log level for MOI validation issues during aircraft loading from “errors” to “warnings”.

EFB

  • Fixed an issue where, in some cases of arrivals with enroute transitions, the route string produced circular routing near the transition start.
  • Fixed an issue where arrival procedures in the route string had an extra number at the end.
  • Fixed an issue where aircraft cruise performance was not calculated correctly when using performance profile data.
  • Fixed map position not centered on aircraft when starting a flight.
  • Fixed an issue where auto-routing picked procedures that were longer than the entire route.
  • Automatically computed cruise steps will no longer target cruise altitudes below the highest VNAV ABOVE descent constraint in the flight plan.
  • Route string will now omit “DCT” between two custom waypoints (coordinates/PBD).
  • Changed cruise altitude warning to yellow, warning is now hidden if route is incomplete.
  • Automatic initial cruise altitude selection will now prioritize respecting the airplane’s maximum cruise altitude over respecting flight plan VNAV constraints.
  • Locked waypoints are displayed with a padlock on the map.
  • Map will be centered on the current flight plan every time the origin and arrival airports are selected.
  • Added speed and altitude restriction information to the Route page.

  • Added support for capacity and quantity in ‘Asobo_Water_Ballast_Parameters’
  • Added a ‘_VALVE’ suffix to all parameters previously present in ‘Asobo_Water_Ballast_Parameters’ (since they were only related to valves)

Modular Aircraft

  • Fixed withExterior_showInterior_hideFirstLod hiding the entire interior of modular aircraft if interior model was an empty model. Instead this option will hide the first LOD of all interior models of the aircraft hierarchy, except for these empty models.
