Here either, working OK.
Iām on the Store version, unfortunately.
But thank you for the tip.
Well, as no one suffers from this I flushed my DNS cache, rebooted, then changed my DNS to Google Public DNS and rebooted again just to discover that I lost my Internet connection, then I returned my previous DNS (which was in automatic mode), and started the Simulator again and had the smoothest flight since I installed MSFS2024. OMDB-OMDB, AI traffic+planes at gates on middle - not a single stutter, no FPS lower 31, 34-45 FPS (no FG, just the default Simās DLSS in Performance. The only thing - I used default NVIDIA APP OLOD/TLOD settings for my system which were rather low - 25:)))
Yes I ran it again in both 2D and VR and the big blotch is definitely gone at SFO but a lot of edges seem to have āmudā around them which appears on the landing as a stuttering barrage of graphics changes. This was not there before as my old screen shot shows under the landing lights.
Not sure how to write this up as they probably think it is artistic.
-EDIT: Moved my post to another thread-
oh yeah I got exactly this during cruise in my testing. I donāt remember it doing that before.
Was it after update?
I also had the same problem and was able to delete the Rolling Cache setting by deleting the file called localprofile from %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\ whilst the sim was closed.
hope this helps
Quite impressed that an already buggy atc window is getting worse each update.
Still lags the sim on open, replies still cut each other off, ATIS freaks out when tuned to and now a bunch of options are blanked out leaving you to guess what they say.
Charitably, I guess this means they are working on this area internally and some issues from that work are bleeding through to our flightings.
UPDATE: I realized that I turned my dynamic settings down to a target of 30. So I was seeing more occasional dips down to 30fps. GPU also became less utilized. So I turned my dynamic settings back up to target 60fps and now the sim is smooth again. GPU is now working harder, and now Iām getting a healthy balance of limited by main thread/gpu.
Here in Monterrey, Mexico is ok.
Thanks for focusing on some helicopter related things :D.
ditto.
I feel that in beta .18, stuttering creeps in VR slightly compared to .16 but in pancake mode, the stuttering is very obvious. (I use pancake mode for replays and its stuttered kinda bad that cant seem to use my replays effectively.)
Is anyone else terribly annoyed by the new āvisual assistancesā popup that pops up when swithing the assitances OFF? (I have to do this several times per flight because my hardware randomly switches them back onā¦)
Thereās a bug report for that issue:
Are strong VRAM usage fluctuations normal on bigger airports? I observed such a VRAM peak at KSAN (San Diego International) during my pre-flight routine outside. You just have to move towards a specific direction and VRAM consumption will jump from 6,3gb to 7,3gb from one second to another but it will also go back very fast to an area where that gpu ressources warning dissappears.
EDIT: I forget to mention that there is no stutter comming along that VRAM peak, so it is not as dramatic. Just had the most beautiful departure from KSAN in the A359 yesterday. Nice atmosphere and no single stutter.
This is similar to the Thames in London at one time - mud piles around bridge supports as if the Thames was running dry. It was fixed after an outcry.
So yes, probably a deliberate (but misguided) artistic effect which needs to be called out.
I have the same updates and drivers as you and NOT experiencing your shut down problems, in fact SU4 beta is running well on my rig at the moment ![]()
To be fair I think most of the top menu options do that. Weather certainly does, and on planes like the A2A Comanche, and Aerostar, you see a noticeable little bump as the plane flies along when there is this brief glitch in performance.
Legend. This fixed it! Was bugging me for weeks
