I only know it’s launched because I have a cpu monitor gadget on the desktop.
I think what would be helpful is a splash screen with a prompt such as a picture of an aeroplane with some prominent text underneath suggesting the user “Press any key” to continue loading the game.
I don’t know why they didn’t think of that.

+1 Any visual feedback on start would help a lot. MS should consider this.
That’s the reason why in the meantime, I created this little Splash Screen helper, maybe one day we will have something onboard FS, but I suspect this is not on high priority list
Thank you very much, Pieloth, this is exactly and simply what me and certainly many other simmers wanted to have on their screens. It works very well.
It can be understood that this Splash Screen is not a high priority on the part of the developers of MSFS. This is because it is not a priority: it is simply an obligation of common sense. But we can understand that sometimes common sense obligation is not a major concern.

When I click the shortcut to open MSFS and have to wait 30 seconds or so to even know that it’s starting is kind of frustrating. At a minimum there should be some sort of immediate feedback from the application that the loading process is beginning.
I got one! “PRESS ANY KEY TO START”
hm, my splash screen is 5 fans in the rig
edit actually 8 with 3 gpu’s lol
Two little dialogue box sized splash screens prior to Asobo main logo screen. First one says ‘wait in lounge’; second one says ‘proceed to gate’.
I have gotten use to it but some feedback that something is running would be nice
Good lord. Months of people complaining about the press any key splash screen and they finally get rid of it. Now you want it back?
They can’t win.
You don’t need to press a key to get past a splash screen.
Yeah, it is annoying having to wait quite some time to get any indication that the game has started. Especially if I have something like Playclaw running that will cause the game to not load at all without any message or indication.
It is odd that there is no splash screen. By long standing convention, any app that takes more than a couple of seconds to display something at all is supposed to have one.
Which key was that?
lol
Pro tip, pin it to your start menu, when you click the application you can tell the game is about to start loading when the start menu disappears. If it does not disappear, something has gone wrong!
Are your own. Just have a script that when executed shows a window showing “Loading” or some such, while it loads the sim in the background.
The Japan Update screen is getting annoying as well.
This is what I use, and since its not actually built into MSFS, (its just a batch file), you can edit it to do almost anything you want.
I changed the flashing dots to a Counter, so each time I load MSFS, I can see how long it takes as I add more to the community folder.
You can customize the Image… do anything you like ..
I cannot imagine starting MSFS any other way now …
I really miss the
