It doesn’t? Do you normally cruise at full throttle in the yellow arc?
I mean I wouldn’t suger coat it that much, I’ve heard other things about the SR22 that imply that the sim representation is…
Solid, outright good for a default aircraft, but still a bit wanting.
That being said, I’m keeping that 176-178 KTAS through sea level to 4k, gonna try some higher alts now
Yep, which is pretty much what I would expect in a real airplane. No plane hits book numbers. None.
At 6000 ft
I get about 174 KTAS and right around 86-88% power with some playing with the mixture. It’s 10 knots off the book, but at least the curve seems accurate from all the things I’m reading there.
What are you talking about? He was doing 176 KTAS not 178 KTAS. He is 10 knots off the book. There is no reason for the sim to not get close to book numbers. If it was a knot or two whatever, but this is 10 knots. Sim has no problem getting exact POH numbers on the 172, DA40, the TBM, etc…
Why the sore spot for this one plane? Because there is a problem.
That’s why the POH doesn’t recommend cruising at those power settings. But it has nothing to do with whether or not the plane is capable of cruising in the yellow arc.
I have to agree, I want all the deluxe/premium planes to get a little uplift. I’m crossing my fingers that the portion of the team looking into them is gonna have SOMETHING to say come next Q&A, since Jorg mentioned it back in June.
Hello everyone,
this is a friendly reminder to stay civil towards each other.
Thank you.
Jorg already mentioned in the last Dev Q&A he has a Strike Team looking at how to address all the additional aircraft in Deluxe and Premium packages.
Anything else beyond that is simply conjecture.
Suggestion: Submit a question for the next Dev Q&A asking for an update.
Hi mate I feel your frustration.Think of it this way - PMDG has 16 devs working on 1 aircraft for months,Asobo has 16 aircraft worked on by 1 dev,you see the difference here?.The standard aircraft could be MUCH better with a bit of tweaking but I think that Asobo are quite literally swamped by core game fixes ATM.
Sure, Asobo certainly have bigger things to tackle right now, but when a plane’s off in a flight sim it is still good to get the word out. It’s not just finding an excuse to punch at the game, it’s a genuine issue with a plane that, if they’re made aware of it, they may eventually fix
In MSFS, the SR22 cruise speed is much more like an SR20.
The numbers below are taken directly from the Cirrus website, but even those don’t really match the performance of the aircraft modeled in the sim. Whatever it is, the model in MSFS doesn’t behave like either an SR20 or an SR22… it’s more of a mashup of the two.
Looks like one though… maybe it’s an SR21? ![]()
|Takeoff|1,685 ft (514 m)|
|Climb Rate|781 ft/min (3.97 m/sec)|
|Max operating Altitude|17,500 ft (5,334 m)|
|Stall Speed with Flaps|57 KCAS|
|Max Cruise Speed|155 KTAS|
|Landing Groundroll|853 ft (260 m)|
it’s definitely faster than an SR20, but it’s not as fast as an SR22
Agreed… Hopefully Asobo will find some time to get around the aircraft performance issues.
They look great (especially for default planes) but I wish they would spend some more time on the flight modelling too.
Do I am wrong, normally power set 75% result in 2500rpm cruise IRL ? But actually 75% result in 2700rpm. Only put throttle less then 30% is affecting the pitch to move.
i think this is part of the issue here. It doesn’t model the correct power and prop settings since they are both controlled by the single throttle. So they have compromised with a more linear power setting which doesn’t replicate the POH
Before the update it was working properly. Maybe this result in lower speeds that will not match with the POH.
Does anybody else have the problem that I can’t switch the fuel tanks anymore after the update?
Fuel tank switch works with the mouse for me (I use the mouse wheel for this generally). Note:
- I am using “lock” mode, not “legacy” interaction mode
- I have updated all content through Content Manager
- When SU5 came out, I reset my mouse and keyboard bindings to the defaults, then re-added my customizations to ensure everything was correct for the new interaction modes
Anyone having issues with cold start? I follow the checklists and some Youtube tutorials, and I can’t get the engine to turn over. Any tricks to try?
Also, I cannot use the mouse to switch fuel tanks either…
