T-7A Red Hawk by Top Mach: The new generation trainer jet in MSFS2020/2024

Will do. The model looks really nice and after looking at some more screenshots it certainly doesn’t look 2D or that bad in the cockpit. I sometimes have trouble with the modern flat screen displays not looking authentic in my perception. I know you can’t have access to a real cockpit.
Looking at a few more views around the aircraft, I do see that the seats and cockpit layout look quite nice. I am sure I will be adding this aircraft to my collection as this is a really nice little Boeing trainer.
Please don’t take my gripes to heart as I am sure a lot of work has gone into this project.
I will say that I really want the pilot problem fixed in MSFS 2024 and that I am aware you had to take into account the upcoming changes to deal with this. So many Helicopters and default aircraft being without pilots is frustrating to me.
Your work on the model is greatly appreciated and I will keep following the progress.
Thank you for your response and all the hard work.

If you mean the Library within the Marketplace area, My T7-A is not even listed there (yet).

I’m sure there is some sort of freeze on the MP at the moment …
I have aircraft in 2020 that have not appeared in my 2024 folder yet (C160 - even though it has had a 2024 update …still not in my 2024 list!)
..And the Huey, is shown as streamed in my 2024 contents…but does not show up in my available aircraft list!
…I think we just have to be patient until they sort out the 2024 MP.

The nose wheel will not steer on the T-7A. I have tried everything relating to available nose steering controls. All others work, including F-35. What am I missing?

Everything from 2020 is automatically disabled in your 2024 library, you have to manually enable it thrn restart your sim to use in 2024

Unfortunately that is not the case. I’ll take TopMach’s advise and sit tight

Ok, I’m guessing it doesn’t show up in the content manager then. Oh well worth a try.

Yep, and have done that …but things are still missing or just not there!

Had it for a few days now and it’s still not showing in 2024, alas.

Weird there are no pilots in 2020. 2024, I understand, that’s the buggy mess the sim is with 2020 planes. But weird it’s a ghost plane in 2020.

Great plane otherwise! Also, someone should really create a topic in the actual aircraft add-ons topic. This is the topic for the video in the first post, and it’d be good for it to get some traffic in the planes section.

That will be because they are adding a custom pilot in an up coming update. I would think that will wait untill they can uptate both 20 and 24 simultaneously as to save doing the same job twice.
Currently 24 doesn’t update to the same versions as 2020 so Asobo synchronisation maybe required

Hello, I just purchased your 2020 T7 for xbox series x. There is no checklist, it has constant black avionics aswell. Is this a RAM issue and known to be fixed?

Folks - this is turning into a Support Chat which is not allowed in the forums for Third Party products, and certainly NOT in the Community Content Hangar > Videos & Streams area. Please take this to Top Mach’s Support line. Thanks.

Please delete my post above, sorry i didnt realise the catagory and Ive created a separate post elsewhere.
Thank you

No problem. Thank you.

the T-7 doesn’t use the nosewheel steer key command or key bind. If you use it, the steering will lock. We’ll be looking at a work around for this problem in a future update to all of our products.

I purchased the T7 in the MSFS 2020 Marketplace, here is a little review consider it valid for 2020.

I was really interested in this jet, it is modern, aims to replace the Talon and has very nice specs, TMS also produced some good quality add-ons before.

I was disappointed and this is by far the worst Top Mach Studios product.

I will start with the good parts: Flight model and Sounds.
Sounds are really very nice, much better than the average fighter jet sounds we usually get, the flight model is quite good, it flies like a modern jet and while it is very agile it also has some weight and is not overpowered.

Now the not so good parts: Everything else.
The cockpit textures are fine but could be better, same for the exterior model that seems barely ok for the quality we got from other products like the F14 or the F35.
Cockpit screens and avionics are very very bad. The avionics seem to be “inspired” by the IndiaFoxtEcho F35 but have about 1% of the functionality, you can just select two layouts and some basic instruments in each position for each layout.
Resolution of the screens is poor and the fonts are terrible, both in size and placement, some get cluttered some are too big others too small, they really look horrible. I added some screenshots so you can have your own opinion.

Both FLIR and Synthetic vision only work if you change the HUD to the F22 version and look completely rushed and amateur with text overlapping. Really a sloppy job by TMS in these screens.

In my case AP worked badly but it might just be me, couldn’t change ALT SEL, VS is erratic, it seems there is no ILS glideslope capture (or maybe my mistake). Nav works ok and the jet can definitively hold a route and altitude.

Performance is fine, this is not an issue.

I was really surprised by the low quality of this product and it does not surprise me that it got little or no attention from streamers, the pricing is awful, this costs the same as the FlightFX Piaggio 180 but has probably 1/100 of the work.

Let’s hope the next one from TMS is better.

Agreed on the flight model and sounds being great. Haven’t really used AP much because I’m flying it like a fighter and haven’t tried cross-countries or adverse weather situations.

I also appreciate that there are 14 liveries (if you only count the multiple Thunderbirds aircraft as one) in both prototype, flight test, and hypothetical operational schemes.

You did miss my biggest complaint right now: No pilots in the outside view. That makes screenshots look pretty silly. Seriously hope they address this in the first update.

I can’t agree with you on the textures “fine but could be better” is pretty vague, and “barely okay” on the exterior doesn’t mesh with what I see. The site here, sadly, compresses the heck out of the shots, so these don’t illustrate the sharpness I see, but you can see the level of details with panels, rivet shading, etc. on the exterior shots.

Not sure if it’s the compression of the upload to the forum, or if you have DLSS compression blurrieness, but my panel looks way sharper than the shots above.

Fonts are smallish, but from what public info is available on the T-7A, they look representative…

Anyway, agreed there are areas that need work, but overall I’m really pleased, especially given that the plane’s not even in service yet. (IFT showed a model of it over 5 years ago, but looked like they were waiting on the production version.) Appreciate you including lots of screens so folks can judge based on their needs.

But I’ll say for a fast low-level flight with a panoramic view and a plane that feels like it should based on its role and public performance, I’m pretty happy with it.

We are developing a major update to the model which should release before the end of March which should address several of your complaints, bugs, etc… We’ll also be adding pilot figures, additional IFR capability, and a variety of improvements where needed. As to the screen displays: these were taken right out of public information available for the T-7 (not inspired by any other aircraft), of which there is a limited amount currently available, but we attempted to be as accurate as the information allows. As more public information becomes available about the systems and displays, we’ll continue to update the model.

That is very good news! Thank you for not abandoning the product!
I think the T7 can be a wonderful jet to fly around MSFS 2024.
I will be happy to edit my review!

Well, this is fun. FS2024 is never without it’s amusing moments.

Along with some third-party stuff showing up in Marketplace, I get a notification in 2024 that new 2020 content is available. Check my library, and sure enough… There’s my T-7A Red Hawk, finally.

Added to the library list as “Not available.” Sigh.
