They used to visit us regularly at RNAS Lossiemouth now of course RAF Lossiemouth during the late 60s. They’d park up at the north end of the airfield always adjacent 23. It was rumoured that they were “armed” but no navy personnel certainly that I knew could say that for sure.
I once tried to wander a bit closer to one to have a better look but was deterred by a brylcream boy complete with SLR. Always guarded by RAF personnel don’t think they trusted us lot.
So let me tell you about this site called Flightsim.to…

…all of which would be great to fly the Vulcan from, he added, staying on-topic!
Anyone made a simbrief profile that could be used when the plane is released? Or any idea what profile could be used as “draft”? Believe that the fuel burn is on average much higher than any plane on simbrief at the moment?
On its way to the Malvinas the overloaded Vulcan 607 burned 16,250 lbs per hour, that’s 677 gals per engine per hour.
Fantastic reply mate, what was the Cruise %rpm you Think? 75%?
I don’t know that.
On their way to th Falkland Islands they mainly cruised at 33,000 feet, in relative vicinity of their Victor tankers. Refueling then was lower down, at 26K to 30K feet and took up to 30 minutes, while the Vulcan Captain adjusted throttle levers between 80 and 90% to keep station.
On their way home they initially cruised at 43,000 feet.
This is all contained in the book “Vulcan 607”.
Audiobook bought, thanks for the heads-up
This is a cool visualisation of the raids
Any info regarding modern avionics? Pictures and clips of the 655 shows a garmin thing for navigation and digital adf?
No, that’s 558 you are thinking of with the modern avionics suite. 655 retains the in-service instrumentation (apart from, I think, a non-standard ASI on one of the front panels).
Arh, my fault. Thanks for the correction, would’nt mind the option though
Still no news
Get used to it , most devs are like this
I’m pretty sure they have said on more than one occasion that they are aiming for before the enc of the year.
What is it that you want news on and I’ll try and help?
Availability tomorrow.

Take your time. It’s finished when it’s finished.
It was just a case of mere excitement that hoped some gossip or anything else had arrived on the Forum. Just waiting for the beautifull bird as all the others
Thank you however for the reply and willingness to help
