My main problème with night lighting is taxi/landing light not illuminating in front of you enough. There is almost no difference between on/off.
that is more related to the addon you use imo.
my main issue is just these ugly bloated/expanded lights at higher altitudes it’s so ugly.
and i am at 150 res scale doing 4K internal res.
And do i need to remind that the sepia effect in the distance is still present?
That is for me the most annoying thing with the night lighting. I was flying from Munich to Barcelona and I was flying over Milan, it looked terrible.
Is this picture XPlane or MSFS?
Light pollution is a thing. If the skies are completely clear, and no moisture in the air, you shouldn’t see it, if there’s low cloud or some haze in the air, it’s there (and should be in the sim as well).
easy to tell the difference XP or MSFS, since quant Tolis has 8K textures
What is quant Tolis?
I’m guessing a Toliss plane for X-Plane with a Quantas livery?
That’s the release version, not the alpha.
It looked truly stunning down low, probably the best.
But, the video is shot very low, never higher than 2,000 ft off the ground.
The problems with that version got very obvious when climbing slightly higher: extremely short lamp visibility range and that awful “sepia mask” rendered for every thing further than a few kilometres.
Then go play X-Plane 12 then!
Moderators, this ought to be a rule. No postings about other Flight Sim Games in this forum, period!
Comparison of MSFS and other simulators is OK.
Where it’s not OK is if the topic is strictly about another simulator.
No thank you @k8cpachuck
Also like Hester said I am within my right to mention another simulator.
Maybe you are new to the forum but we used to have over 2000+ posts about night lighting improvements which did not happen or regressed in some ways, hence the frustration.
If you are happy with it then i am happy for you.
I certainly am not with the state of how it currently is.
