Tobii Eye Tracker 5 stops working when changing windows

Thanks for testing reporting back!

I was able to reproduce the initially reported problem. However only while going window mode and hitting the minimize button. Alt-tabbing or changing window did not break it for me personally. Now in SU11 beta, I’m able to minimize the game, open it up again and keep the connection to the game working.

If someone still have issues on SU11 beta and onwards please let us know!

Note that moving the window to another monitor than what the eye tracker is calibrated on can cause issues. The eye tracker uses EDID data from your monitor (dimensions, resolution etc) to be able to calculate where you’re looking on the screen. If the monitor suddenly changes it’s likely going to get confused. The experience might differ in window mode and exclusive fullscreen.

See my post above. Does this still break for you on the SU11 beta?

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Lost TOBII after alt-tab

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Nothing new, everything has already been said …

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

The same happens to me if Spacedesk Lost the connection for a second with a old smartphone with the VATSIM Pilot software… Tobii stop working till close MSFS and reboot the PC.

Some bug to be investigate.

I’m still getting this issue on the latest stable build of MSFS

I am also still having this issue

SOLUTION (for me): Set MSFS to Windowed (not Fullscreen).

Fullscreen breaks Tobii for me while I’m using Spacedesk. It continues working when Windowed.

It’s good you have a solution that is working for you. Does the window size or position matter? I am still having issues with Tobii Eye Tracker 5 stopping in MSFS. After stopping it still shows up in control settings but additionally a TrackIR will be on an adjacent page. I don’t have TrackIR installed on the computer, and it is not in control settings prior to the Tobii failure. The only way to get Tobii functioning again is to restart MSFS 2020.

Same here after the last update. Cannot tell you what causes it…

Same here in a single monitor environment.
Switching to another window or si,bly going to the external cam disconnects tobii

This is what it looks like.

A clean install of FS and Windows fixed it.

Unable to reproduce issue.
