I am not on VATSIM but I am using BATC to inject traffic.
My understanding is, that the way of injection is the same for both (SimObjects instead of AI traffic).
But before spending hours with downloading all AIG models you could download just 1 or 2 airlines and then go to an airport where you would most likely expect it to show up and find out for yourself.
Or wait for someone on VATSIM with AIG models to answer your question.
Ok, yeah i just downloaded the EU pack for AIG, went planespotting on vatsim and all planes landed without the gear down. So same with FLSTL. Iâm so sick of this issue that has been going on for so long Dont remember that happening even once on msfs2020.
What do you mean no reaction? It has been in dev map long time. âin progress per aircraftâ so they release it when all the AI aircraft´s are edited. There is lots of MSFS AI models to edit. But i cant say how it is going to be affect to FSLTL and AIG etc. Do they need to edit the models also?
Iâm not sure they understand that itâs the AI aircraft thst exhibit this issue. The wording âper aircraftâ would indicate to me they are fixing each player controlled aircraft (self and other players) so that the lods are correct. Not sure the generic Ai aircraft are going to be fixed.
Well i think it is the opposite. 90% of the complaint are focusing to MSFS AI models, FSLTL models, AIG models, Just traffic models. That is just my about number of the complaints. Actually i havent see many complaints of flyable aircraft, because missing gear is only missing when drone mode and far away from aircraft.
It seems like the general LOD on the aircraft have been worse then before, now some of the aircraft appear as a minecraft model just some hundred meters from the camera. Tested with the pc12, 737max, twin otter, ++ . And the whole aircaft disappears 1.5 km away. Specialy in VR its worse then in 2D. Very annoying when flying with friends in multiplayer. The ObjectLOD setting have no impact on this. I wish Asobo just made this as a separate slider in graphics setting, called âAircraft Detailâ with low to ultra settings.
I would see this as a major regression since launch.
Yes, all aircraft floating unless getting close to them and indeed in VR looking worse. Good old standing issues not addressed so far which makes me wonder if anyone is actually taking into account feedback.
I always wonder what does the landing gear has thatâs so bad for the sim that they just donât fix this?
Does it make the sim really tank FPS when seeing the LG far out?
At least they should tell us why they donât fix this.

Not on PC no. But keep in mind MS insists on having the same graphics engine code running on both PC and console. This means that they want to have super aggressive LOD enforced to everyone so that it works on slow consoles.
If only theyâd differentiate between PC and console, but MS doesnât care.
PCâs have grunt to deal with this.. Asobo should never have used the same setting/code for consoles. Ridiculous when most of us are using 40 and 50 series cards on a PC which cost more than a console
I havenât totted them up but Iâm guessing about 25% of Steam users are on a 4 or 5 series card, so hardly a majority. Figures in the second to last column are October, with the last being overall change.
The most popular card overall, by market share, is the 3060.
To show the small landing gears further out will have no or very minimal impact on performance. I think its not by design but more a LOD bug that have not been prioritized fixed.
