I find that clicking on external elements such as engine covers and chocks requires the camera to be very close to them.
For example, removing the chocks on the Vision Jet seems to be impossible with normal controls in VR while sitting down, because the wing blocks your avatar from moving close enough. (The crouch in the game isn’t enough.) You have to physically crawl on the floor in real life to get your head close enough to the chocks to click on them.
The Cub crafters X-cub the fuel switch is not functioning And every single exterior walk around I have done is all messed up on all planes.
Like someone posted a few ago, I think the problem lies in how far you have to be or at what angle you get near the item for it to work. I had to be within a few CM/Inches away from a click spot on all exterior items before it would highlight. Very hard to do with some aircraft when you have to get up under the wing to remove chocks etc or planes like the tubeliners where you have about 15’ between you and the elevators above you.
I think the internal click spots are the same. I could highlight the fuel switch in the Cub crafters only if I were to move my view all of the way to the left and have my cursor over about a 10 pixel space it was VERY tiny. If I was quick, I could switch it when the switch highlighted.
This was known for a while, kind of bothers me that they shipped it when this kind of a problem existed and was KNOWN to exist. Feels kind of like a middle finger to a portion of the customers that bought the sim.
Default C172, click spots far too small making clicking items very difficult. Same on the Vision Jet and same on the Cessna 408, just the three default planes I’ve tried and noticed the issue within the first five seconds of gameplay.
I had the issue with any JF Plane I’ve tried: All three Arrows, the Tomahawk, the BAE 146. Also the A2A Comanche and some other 3rd-party planes I can’t remember..
BUT as has been mentioned, it depends on your position in the world. Issue only seems to show up west of the 0-Meridian.
EDIT: I haven’t actually tested the full SU5 release yet, just assumed it wasn’t fixed since it wasn’t mentioned in the notes and others are still mentioning it.
For me the problem is gone. No need anymore to use the workaround I have mentioned above (moving pilots position). It works as usual now, no issues to press items in VR.
Yeah I’m confused. I just got a 1gig update this morning and things seem ok. Maybe I’d never updated to SU5 last night
There is a double vision mouse cursor over the controls now but both eyes see it so it’s not as bad as before. What we really need is a toggle to select either left or right eye only.
Edit: actually the double cursor was sporadic. After landing I noticed it was back to a single cursor, perfectly aligned over everything. Very strange. Also confirmed I’m definitely on v1.7.27.0.
flew a2a Comanche last night….still cant click chocks or tie downs etc. But in the cockpit everything like fuel selector and throttle now seem to work, Ill try some more planes out tonight.
PMDG 737. Unable to click anything in walkaround mode, plus some switches inside the cockpit that are not linked to the scroll wheel of the mouse can only be switched to one side. This was not the case in SU4.
This is a list of the switches that I found on my previous flight that are not working correctly and are only switchable to one side:
Problem of not being able to get close enough to covers and chocks in VR still in SU5. On Vision Jet and Draco X for sure. Pitot cover on Vision Jet can be removed as camera position can get very close but engine inlet cover impossible to get close. Only option is to exit VR to click.
Yep, I agree. While the interior problems are fixed, clicking on things externally is still very hit and miss. You basically need to enable Ant-Man mode and crawl inside the wheel chocks on the Vision Jet to have any hope of clicking them.
Can’t click the fuel selector on the default XCub. After discovering that I tried everything else and it seemed to work, except once the windows are opened they can’t be closed.
I can reach the throttle on the H125 collective but can’t reach the static port cover on the H125 walk-around. Had to define a “quick pre-flight” key as a workaround
Purely a guess, but maybe regressions only during the beta don’t get mentioned in the final SU5 release notes, because they’re not fixes for anything broken in SU4.
Or maybe they just broke something else without knowing it, and it happened to fix the click spots bug
