I’m also a software developer and I’m just like you, absolutely amazed about what they created. It’s insane how the weather and scenery looks.
However, the amount and nature of all the bug reports kinda worries me. They seem to pop up everywhere. I hope all these random-ish bugs are pointing to one bottleneck that is screwing up everything. I can imagine the stress levels are going through the roof right now for the devs. Let’s try to stay supportive. Coding is really NO fun when everyone is screaming around you.

Downloaded the freeware Washington Landmarks addon a couple of hours ago and took a GA on a casual site seeing trip to look around. Did some low level flying over the Pentagon, Capitol Hill and the White House. Great guys there by the way, I’m sure I saw the President waving to me on the lawn. Almost tempted to land and join him in a beer!
Absolutely amazing. FPS averaged 40-50, at a ridiculously low altitude of about 100ft, no lagging or stuttering, scenery brilliant. ASOBO is supposedly going to be looking at improving the scenery in the USA. TBH if Washington is anything like representative of what we have in the USA then i’m not sure i’d bother.

Agree. It must be really difficult finding non-understandable and incomplete bug reports hidden in a post in a General Discussion thread.
I wouldn’t worry about the devs. Probably don’t read the posts on this forum any more. Makes more sense to read the posts on Avsim. Different culture there.
I’m happy that the Zendesk interface now requests that you not only describe the issue you are seeing, but also the steps necessary to replicate it, and how easy it is to replicate.
On the one hand, it may put people off from logging things as its extra work, and on the other it will hopefully improve the quality of those tickets. A lot of the posts you see in the bug group on the forums wouldn’t really qualify as a report you could actually act on.

I agree it’s amazing, but they should have cleaned it up a bit before release. They should have paid more attention during the testing phase. But, what’s done is done, and here we are.
I’ve been loving this sim! It’s got its issues but I love it and have had so much fun already with just the base product. As it evolves and more Add-ons and enhancements come out its only going to get even better which is what makes me continue to love and enjoy this simulator.

Yes I think we are a month beyond that fact. Now we can help the developers with comprehensible (keep in mind their first language is not english) and constructive criticism and feedback. „I‘m ■■■■■■“ doesn‘t help anyone.

Not unpopular, it’s a great sim, i love it, but it needs to be a little debugged and completed. In a few years, it will be the best of all time. for now, the team seems to be overloaded by xbox version (most part of the team is on), so PC version will not be enhanced/debugged a lot for a few weeks (months ?).
That’s not really an unpopular opinion. You mention graphics first, and that is not surprising to me, because opinions on this game largely depend on what is wanted from it: graphics or simulation. The graphics crowd is happy, the simmers are not. Then there is Asobo’s inability to patch the game without introducing new bugs, which is pissing everyone off.

How do you know that the Xbox version will be a different version?
Why does the Xbox need a different version? Are they rewriting that version from anew?

Please elaborate. I have been a simmer for many years and I am happy. Have you done a survey among all simmers or are you just spreading untruth. What is your objective in doing that?

I agree- I was expecting a higher baseline of “depth” upon release. Eye candy is wonderful in the sim. But, it took a month for them to get weather working in the US, aircraft are still running amok, and even study-level developers say that the sim has to mature before they’ll be able to do much.
So a valid point has been made.
