@ThreeGuide4354 In flightsim.to the Savage Carbon is under Utilities / Tweaks. Yes I know their categories need work
this is the best one for plane mods at the moment and where others are too.

Hope to be able to release v1.0.6 today, perhaps in about 6 hours (more or less). Been a crazy week but I’ll do my best!

@DamdBullDog The Zlin Outback Shock? (Shock Cub), that would be nice! Now if only someone had a 3D model lying around somewhere, and sound recordings
mmm

The 280HP Rotax mod
yes seen it, but to be honest, too much power perhaps? When I do another engine option it’ll likely be 180HP or so, which, considering her low weight, is already pretty crazy and gives her an extreme power-to-weight ratio.

Anyway, anything can happen and I have yet to experiment with other engines. But not yet
let’s finish the plane first!

Pretty amazing though that there now are mods for mods coming out

I’d love to have that modeled!

Looking at the specs of the two airframes / wings, it’s pretty much the Shock Ultra with a Titan 340 shoehorned in

I was thinking I could to hack in a Xcub 180 engine file to the Ultra Shock directory
and tried, but it doesn’t have a engine.cfg to beign with, and doesn’t seem to recognize any thing I copy in.

The Shock Ultra is a premium aircraft and has all files protected.

UPDATE: v1.0.6 RELEASED!

CHANGE LOG

Changelog v1.0.6:

  • Autopilot. Tweaked for a smooth ride and removed the pitch oscillation problem. You will need to manually turn it on though in a config file (one time only for each of my updates) as the autopilot unfortunately turns on by default if you start in the air. I fear that would confuse too many players. Hence
one manual action will be required if you want this feature. Please see below for a simple instruction.
  • Liveries. Rust Bucket added to the collection. Looking sharp. And rusty.
  • Night VFR! Subtle cockpit lights as well as navigation and double strobe lights have been added. All angles of visibility are according to FAA regulations. Brighter landing lights have been installed too.
  • Electrical Systems upgrade. Engine charges the battery properly now according to various RPM rates (5500 RPM charges much faster than idle). Power consumption of various systems is now also correct. No more flat avionics mid flight, but I would recommend turning off landing lights during normal flight. They should not be on then and consume a lot of electricity. It’s what you would do for real.
  • Multiplayer Sunken Planes. Fixed.
  • Propeller. Replaced the wooden propeller with carbon fiber for all planes except DDay liveries. Comes with a 3% increase in power as a carbon prop typically would give you when compared to wood.
  • Flight model realism improvements. Especially the yaw and pitch axis have been improved (more “lose” and less “auto pilot”). You’ll need to work a bit harder now as you should in a taildragger. Warm up your happy feet and use that rudder. Flying certainly feels a bit more real and exciting! Do note however that Adverse Yaw is not yet simulated in FS2020 (not a single plane has this at the moment).
  • Correct white arc added to the cockpit ASI. However, the “incorrect” arc that is painted on the glass is still there. Currently this is out of my control (I spent hours researching this silly little thing), waiting for a better SDK so I can replace the glass or gauge.
  • Little things here and there.

AUTOPILOT

The autopilot is disabled by default as it is not installed in the Savage. If you want its functionality you will need to manually enable it as per the instructions below. Use your own keybinds to manage the autopilot on / off state, altitude hold and heading hold.

  1. Go to your community folder
  2. Go to gotgravel-savage-carbon / SimObjects / Airplanes / Asobo_Savage_Carbon
  3. Open the file engines.cfg in a text editor
  4. Go to the last line and change the 1 to 0 (DisableAutopilotControls = 0)

Great news you have v6 out.
A couple of initial reactions to your post.
Can you add the ‘weathered’ livery to your .to display?
I think it would catch a few punters
The AP, if the AP is a Keyboard triggered control then should that be mentioned in the listing info in case a new comer goes looking for an AP unit on the dashboard?

I suspect its overpowered & wonder about the structural integrity of the air-frame & wings receiving that much power & whether it is a realistic mod?
Whereas the GG SCC v5 feels like say a thoroughbred Mercedes, the GG SCC v5/280T felt like someone had stuck a supercharged v8 in a Lotus Cortina.
Finesse vs raw power.

Both are already done actually. Image of Rust Bucket is there (but granted, could be a better shot), and the info on the AP is also correct and complete.

Perhaps this shot is better? In any case using it now instead
thanks for pointing this out

Nicely done

Great update GG. Thankyou. Will toggle master AP do the trick instead of ap on and ap off - ie 1 keybind instead of 2. Or is master AP something slightly different?

Rust Bucket flying over Charlotte, NC scenery from flightsim.to. Nice job as usual. Love the patches on both sides near the tail, very authentic looking.

A heads up that when I was unpacking v6 zipped I got this message, several times.
Any way around it?
I hit Skip 2nd time, it installed but as you will see in 2nd shot, not all there.
