Search for systems.cfg to adjust brake power. From the Savage Carbon:
[BRAKES]
parking_brake = 1
auto_brakes = 0
toe_brakes_scale = 1.5 ; This is braking power…1 being the “normal”
differential_braking_scale = 1.0

That’s interesting…
For the last week or so that’s all I have been flying!!(Savage Carbon, vl-3 mod)
Count me a fan.
The “BatmoCub” looks awesome!! Thanks a lot for the latest update. I thought it was perfect even before to be honest, but there could always be some honing to sharpen things up i gues!
Very good congratulation for this plane!We hope many other planes how FSX!Thank at you the developer
@GotGravel , i´ve maybe missed something . I drooped the “gotgravel-savage-carbon” folder into the community folder, but can´t see the liveries?
Thanks.
No liveries either. Also was missing the Zlin Aviation /Got Gravel Savage Carbon aircraft in the Aircraft Selection area. So I downloaded the zip from Mega again and clicked save as Mega suggested. Then the extracted zip was OK.
Double checked…package is fine it seems? Please check the download and install instructions carefully. You do need to delete the previous version if you have one. Then unzip, and move the unzipped “gotgravel-savage-carbon” folder (not the “gotgravel-savage-carbon-v103” folder! ) directly into the “Community” folder. Works like a charm.
Or perhaps Mega had a hiccup, in which case you may want to try and download one more time.
You also do need to restart the sim.
Second Download and extract fixed the problem. BTW, Thank you. I am really enjoying this aircraft!
Awesome, and thanks! Already working on the next version…
Talking about the next version (v1.0.4), my focus for this one will be:
#1 … The engine. Rebuilding the Rotax 915 from scratch (well…except the best parts). So far is giving a more correct power curve distribution. This will result in slightly longer and more realistic takeoff rolls (it’s fun right now…but a bit too short even for a STOL beast).
#2 … see number 1.
#3 … joking on number 2. Number 3 (are you confused yet?) will refine the flight model further, responding to the new engine performance as well as your feedback.
So no new liveries for the next update…it’s all gonna be about the “under-the-hood” stuff.
I believe the most fun model is a realistic one. I want you be able to watch a Youtube on STOL competitions and say…“hey, I can do exactly that in my Savage Carbon!”.
Me, too. Especially when using it for real-world training. Otherwise, it’s just an arcade game.
I absolutely love this plane! Thank you so much…
I have been trying to get savage cub paints onto this model based on the understanding that the Savage Carbon is visually a Savage Cub with updated power weight brakes etc.
Is there a way to change the files in a Savage Cub paint to fit on the Carbon, I have tried to modify the aircraft CFG but no joy yet.
Thanks again!
For those who are interested in bush flying, check out Bush League Legends. There are free mods, most of which are updated weekly. There’s also free scenery mods created by the community that focus on backcountry airstrips. bushleaguelegends .com Also join our discord!
As @MisterSilky said, Bush League Legends are a must to check out! Many excellent airstrips too for you to download. Not to mention their tour around the world project…in XCubs mostly but now you can comfortably join them in the Savage .
Note on the airstrips…some are even rigged for STOL competitions or practice, they come with fine distance markers (CAF4 in Canada, British Colombia for example).
Adding custom liveries has become troublesome after the latest Asobo patch. It is possible though, will message you privatly when I have some time to writeup the process.
I would love to fly this a/c, but unfortunately after downloading and unzipping using 7z (won’t install normal zip extracter due to long filenames), the a/c doesn’t show up in the sim. Other a;c have installed including A32NX, working title CJ4, G1000 and G3000, G36 upgrade, etc. BushLeagueLegends also doesn’t show. I’m sure I’m missing something here, but I’m at wit’s end trying to find it. If you have any suggestions, I would love to fly your bird.
Be sure to follow the installation instructions step by step as per the first post in this topic. Including sim restart. I updated the first post to include the folder structure you should be having after you drag the mod in there:
/Community
/gotgravel-savage-carbon
/RTC
/SimObjects
/Official
I did a full test by removing my own mod, downloading from Mega, and it works as it should. Just to confirm that part
Thanks, I finally got it! I was using the move function from 7z to transfer it, then changed to copy and paste and it worked. Thanks for your help, I’m going flying now with what I’m sure will be my favorite bush plane.
Hey man, what a blast this Savage Carbon is! I took off a strip and played around in the Utah mountains, did stalls, spins and landed on mountaintops. THEN I found the Snake river, and flew for 2 hrs. at 20’ to 50’ along the river, and through the most beautiful valleys and gorges I’ve ever seen. I was yanking and banking like nobody’s business trying to keep from running into the sides of the gorges. The most fun I’ve ever had in a sim. I have a PPL SEL with 300 hrs. and 30 hrs. in gliders, and this ranked up there with the real thing. I’m used to the steam gauges, never flown with GPS, so this was just like home for me. You have done a great job on this A/C. Between the Savage Carbon and the A32NX will be practically all I fly from now on. Keep up the great work, I’ll be following you closely.
I have a question about flaps and trimming in this mod. Is it normal that when I deploy flaps, the nose of the plane will go up very strongly, and I need to trim a lot to get the plane level again. I’m not a pilot in real life and don’t have much experience with high-level flight sims either, but other bush planes don’t do this as extremely, from what I’ve seen so far.
Is this behavior realistic? And if so, isn’t this a safety risk, to lose control about the plane’s attitude at a critical point?
