Upgrade from 32gb RAM to 64gb RAM?

I Find it very hard to believe doubling memory would have any impact on frame rate at all what’s also interesting is i achieve similar frame rates on far lower spec than you (32GB, RTX 3060 TI) maybe your previous Ram was faulty?

How many RAM sticks do you have, 2 or 4? What are the exact models?

I’m running G-Skill 7200 DDR5 64 GB , 4 x 16 GB sticks
that will only run stable at 6400 MT/s on a Gigibyte Z790 MB
and i5-13600K.

Seems to be dependent on the CPU’s memory controller and the motherboard’s capability.

I added 2x16gb modules of the same speed/specs/quality … so 4x16 in total, all slots full now.

Original RAM was is Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 5600MHz … the added sticks were Crutial DDR5 5600MHz

I had no issues and the process was seamless

This is a massive change, it would be quite surprising if the amount of RAM was bottle necking the performance this much. Was it definitely identical in sim conditions including location, weather, traffic? Do you know if msfs was reporting being CPU or GPU limited at the time?

I’m also curious

Could you repeat the FPS test with just two memory modules, without any modifications, multiplayer, traffic …
Then, repeat the test with four memory modules?

How do you get Windows to do that? All I can find searching is ways to code to the API to do that, not just some simple application or process.

It happens automatically inside Windows.

Open Task Manager and click on the GPU tab. You will see a variety of memory allocations and usage, including RAM allocated to the GPU.
