Using rudders on landing

Crabbing into the wind on approach with wings level is much more comfortable for me rather than having a wing down through the whole approach. I save the crosswind aileron and rudder for the flare and touchdown. Starting the cross-control stuff is much better when you’re only a few feet above the runway following a nice stable final approach with speed, power and rate of descent well established. Then direct your attention to staying on the centerline and touching down on the upwind main wheel. The other wheel will come down almost immediately.

There will be times when the ball will not be centred on approach, especially in an Xwind situation. Your statement is not quite true. Your instrument shoes a nicely coordinated turn.
