By that logic, Red Dead Redemption 2, a great game that i really enjoyed was early access, because my favourite revolver wasn’t in it.
I think I put together a pretty long list with issues, missing functionality, bugs etc. wouldn’t call that just a missing revolver . You can’t call this a simulator without even having the option to change visibility / RVR to simulate a CAT I / II or III approach. In the current state its a game or at the very best a VFR simulator.
You obviously compare apple and candy, the MS flight had no SDK to works with or any possible to extended, this is a platform that is growing, with full sdk, most major 3rd party are in, total near 900 3rd party company already, all buttons are working just not activated with coding, there is one doing similar to Zibo for MSFS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi6jwEWgpkc&feature=youtu.be
That looks very promising indeed.
all the planes ive tested so far have some missing navigation functions. some obvious landmarks r left out in DC and London. This is either a pre-release beta for $120 or purposely left out to open the door for 3rd party developers to charge us additional $$$ for each functional plane or area. Orbx has already offered the London landmark pack for $$$…
A beginner don’t care about SDK or third party companys but decide in 40 hours is it something for me. Is not waiting for a year before everything is fixed. Over a few month FS2020 is long forgotten for a gamer. Click a button and yoy crash tot the ground is fun that do not last long.
Last evening I had a IFR vatsim flight from EGKK to EGCC, just to see how things are in a really demanding and busy env. I flew on A320. Although I have full navigraph coverage, decided to try out totally free stuff, so I could evaluate what value it brings at just 1$ (price I paid for xbox gpass trial) worth of software, so went with free charts EUROCONTROL - The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation | EAD Basic
How was it? Well, as much as I agree with all of issues currently sim has and not convinced for flight model stuff etc, it was actually pure joy and a lot of excitement that was missing in legacy sims lately Not only to try out new toy at full speed but also to manage all difficulties that I had with completing a flight. There were issues with managing acft speed/altitude/latheral path, comm2 does not work, some airport marking are missing, gates, even basic stuff like vor needles are not present on ND. But I completed end to end flight, no complaints from ATC or other pilots. I might have deviated couple times like a 500ft or few miles off course, but A320 is a default and buggy acft. And that’s how things are just right after release, with only one small patch applied so far that addressed installation issues mostly anyway. It is totally amazing what you get out of the box, considering price point.
This flight also happened to be just at the sunset with some stratus clouds over south UK. I really don’t have to describe how my face must have looked once I climbed above them ;)))
Enjoy this hobby and all sims out there. Thing will get better, for 1$ it can’t get any worse anyway.
PS: Also do not consider it as my recommendation to go into UK airspace, at 7PM, in a default A320 - unless you are fully aware of issues you might run into and be able to manage it
For 1$ I wouldn’t complain either
fsx\p3d without sdk\addons would be not survive 1 year, hence why flight did not survive= no SDK.
You dont have to wait. Just uninstall, quit forum and thats it. Easy.
Flight didn’t survive because there was no SDK, and because it was just a stupid concept.
Frankly, I too am very very disappointed,
because on all available planes there are problems! inactive button options or bugs on some.
The flight models are all to be reviewed there are problems on all the planes I have tested!
the trims do not work at all correctly and the instability in flight of some aircraft is unmanageable.
The flight plan card is not at all interesting, we do not see enough details, names of small towns, roads etc … in short I did not use it to make a flight plan.
ATC which is a real ‘■■■■’ and I weigh my words!
on airports most of the information is false, and in addition It does not correspond at all to the airport cards that we have.
The landscapes: forgive me, but there are a lot of places where the textures are horrible, a dark brown colorimetry!
At LFPO and LFOX airport, the runways and access ramps are of the real ‘M …’ the ground on a lot of place is BLACK yes! with almost white areas !
In some big city the important monuments are not even represented !
The mountains … the mesh is not at all at a height of realism. etc.etc.etc …
I am super disappointed !
Asobo -microsoft mirrored us with ad reinforcements (there on the other hand they are doing a decent job) … that the flight models will be developed under 1000 contact points … and the result is that the planes are even worse than under FSX, because they have not done the necessary tuning work at all so that each plane can fly without any problem basic, and it is not!
I am disgusted!
here LFPO in France Second big Aeroport A horror to reach the track!
even FSX would not have dared to propose this !
Guys, you’re preaching to a choir that sings and dances to the $$$$.
(The 172 STILL does not balloon on approach when you start to set the flaps.)
Of course that is what all the beginners think en do. But how good is that for the future of flight simming? En do not forget how good is that for sales? Someting where Microsoft is very intresting in. We could say ok spend another 1000 dollar and everything is ok does not work for a large user base. And i suppose that grow is the idea behind this new FS2020.
I had no doubt Microsoft has been tracking what we have been doing in FS2020 this whole time
While I appreciate the discourse, really I do, these sort of threads are almost a daily occurrence. Perhaps you could just zendesk the issues you find and provide a solution or constructive feedback rather than just repeating old threads again.
Nevermind I realized OP is the same guy who made the “Not replacing X-plane 11 with FS2020 just yet” thread.
Jup thats me, and I think Zendesk is getting tired of me
Totally agree Nijntje, you forgot something as elementary as 250kts under 10000, I have yet to be warned! I was at FL240 over the lake at Chicago 12 miles out and asked to bring it down to 3000 and cleared for the ILS, what do you think happened? Come on MS and Asobo this is nothing short of brutal, with the exchange in Canada this $180!!! If I want to be frustrated and disappointed I could have stuck with my old FSX for $0, come to think of it I have had pretty good times with FSX and the add on Radar Contact.
To date FS 2020 is about pretty graphics, that’s it. It’s a cute and expensive little game, nothing more. Unless they clean this up real quick, I predict a short life for the title.
