What are the red lights in the english channel?

thanks for the Navigational aids for waterways, but this is not what I was talking about.

Red Right return

They’re wind mill farms. Few off the coast of England, few off the coast of the Netherlands, and I believe some off the coast at France as well

thanks when I first saw them I was thinking a lot of other things among a few here

  • Danger unexploded WWII bombs etc

  • Danger sunken ship(s) just below water line
  • Danger this is water not land
  • or other no go area

Funny
hadn’t heard this in years. My Dad always used to say “Red, Right, Return.”

seems to stick in your mind doesn’t it?

Well number 3 and 4 are correct for an aeroplane :joy:

Used to run bass boat up the Columbia River. Decided to be safe and joined the US Power Squadron and took several boat safety classes, and navigation one as well. Always remembered the Red-Right-Returning motto. Great stuff. Wish I had kept boat, because now we live less than a mile from a very good fishing lake, it would have worked great here. Too old for boat now, or to tight with the money. Really, to d&*^%$m much yard work.

lol same, ASA certified
I had sailing yachts most of my life, nothing too big about 35’ lived on a boat from 5 years prior up to hurricane Maria. Sold it and now I am a Christmas tree farmer. still enjoying life though

Wish I never sold her at times. I still wonder what I would be doing or where if I still had a boat.

If all you are picking out are the windmills, you are missing a whole lot of lighted things. Yes, they would stick up more, but lots of lighted things on almost any navigable water way at night. Cruise the Panama Canal, you will see.

Cashabar - LOL as well, yep would I have time to use it. Everything has a level of work to it. Mess fishing though.
