The hope is, that by doing research, there might be notes, drawings, schematics from the development of the various versions to be uncovered.
Maybe covering “Flight simulators” as a genre might be an alternative. Then the likes of Eagle Dynamics, Laminar Research, Microprose, Looking glass and Terminal Reality could be included in the book. There have been so many attempts and brining flight simulation to PC’s over the last 40 years.
About a week ago I found this video at YouTube which is a talk with Bruce Williams. He was the MS product manager for many MS flight sims starting when DOS was the only operating system. He was a key person for the early success of MS flight sims. In this talk, Bruce discusses the debate and shares his opinion about MSFS being a simulator or a game. He also offers a lot of advice about flying IRL.
