Using the DA62 mod (which I like, and is supposed to be more realistic), the windshield anti-ice only stays on for, I think, 15 seconds at a time. Then you ice up again, and have to use your finite deicing fluid to fix it. Now, perhaps someone who has actually flown one can chime in and let us know if that’s an accurate depiction of how it works IRL. I simply don’t know. Leaving the main pump on HI will also deplete the deice fluid pretty rapidly.
If that’s all an accurate depiction, I would not categorize the DA62 as good for icing conditions, just good for long enough to get OUT of icing conditions, which is hard, because MS has the icing model wrong.
