Last few days I’ve only been using MSFS2024. The rolling cache on it seems to work very well so I’ve set it to 64GB for now and after tinkering with settings updating my DLSS and using the DLSS Tweak tool I have it running incredibly well in VR (still waiting for my new PC which comes next week :grinning:).

Now I’ve been testing a few PG areas out in FS24 and have mixed results!, still only getting 50MB download speeds but I’m extremely impressed and it makes MSFS2024 totally usable and most importantly better and much more enjoyable then MSFS2020!

Las Vegas - Runs amazing on my mid range PC - crystal clear and according to the data used is very small compared to MSFS2020.

London - This was the clearest PG I have ever ever seen in the sim. I think its better then Zagreb (Sorry @Baracus250 haha) but in all seriousness I wonder if it the latest PG data compared with Los Angeles.

L.A - Seems to be the same as in MSFS2020. Lots of blocky PG trees etc.

Barcelona - Still looks amazing on my PC

Nice, France - will not play nicely on my system and internet - yet MSFS2020 still looks amazing.

Slowly going though the list and I think I’m going to add a section for MSFS2024.

Also been only flying helicopters. I’m addicted! It runs so well in VR in FS24, FS20 it was playable but stutters did make it harder and less enjoyable. I just can’t get enough of how blooming good heli’s are! You really get to appreciate the scenery more.

Had amazing fun flying in Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Truly stunning an I’m running most settings on low etc so next week I’ll be able to crank up the settings a bit an annoy the wife even more by constantly saying OMG can you see this looks amazing haha (she’s sick of hearing all about how good it is haha).

Right back to flying.

I’m going to go check it out now :grinning:
But I’m heading straight back to London after as it’s just too good!
I’ll try to update the list this weekend
Happy flying folks. :helicopter: :helicopter: :helicopter: :ga_plane:

Cadiz is fantastic, I flew from S of San Fernanda to Puerto Real and over to Cadiz. All excellent PG.

Ok 2024 users, is the PG and scenery better than ‘the old version’?

Helis are great, but try the hot air balloon as well, less control but even better for enjoying the scenery and lots of fun.

I did the canyon run in the R66, went right along it through all of the no fly zones at canyon level. Totally amazing, absolutely loved it, it’s what we all expected for FS24 but sadly didn’t really get except for a very few places.

How far S? I didn’t measure it, but if you mean “not much”, seriously go back and just keep going south along the coast. It goes for MILES! Some really interesting sights and hotels down there. Also there is some cool stuff to the north, around the other side of that banana shaped bay.

I think it’s the same, just the lighting is better so it does look a bit different.

Cadiz is amazing in MSFS2024! I’ve just paused the sim to type this… Still can’t get over how good it looks! The rating on this one is going right to the top of the list. However I think that the new rating will only apply to the FS24 version.

Back to discovering this gorgeous place!

I’m starting to think that the PG data may be the same as in FS20 but the way its been streamed etc and with it being DX12 only including the better lighting in the sim IMO makes the PG in FS24 far superior. I’ve only used 17GB of data so there’s also some better compression going on.

Back to flying. Sorry but oh my Lord this sim is addictive now and it’s only going to get better with future updates!

PG List Upate 14/12/24 - Now includes MSFS2024

Just to let everyone know this PG LIST will be updated on a more regular basis now. MSFS2020 suggestions still welcome as I’ll still keep using it to check out your suggestions, but MSFS2024 is now my go to Simulator now.

Happy flying :helicopter: :ga_plane:

South of Chiclana de la Frontera, but today I started at Conil de la Frontera, looks like PG extends at least that far south!
15 miles or so? amazing find again for you.

Got to try going north…

Cellular hub indoors due to cold rain outside, still able to fly with good PG

I haven’t flown that far south yet! Going to have a look now. Will have to update the description later :joy: Helicopters are slow though, well the one I’m flying is :joy: :helicopter:

PG List Update 16/12/24

For MSFS2024 we now have 13 places to fly in the 15/15: Beyond Exceptional! section!

I would highly recommend checking out these area’s in FS2024 for yourself. My slower internet handled all these places with no problem at all.

Enjoy folks and happy flying :helicopter: :helicopter: :ga_plane:

I’ve tested quite a few more places. Only got 76 left to test :astonished:

Here’s the latest updated list :+1:

Hi,
One city with great photogrammetry is Graz in Austria.
Worth checking out, even in MSFS 2020.

Hi Graz, Austria was already suggested…

But I’ve looked on the PG list and it’s not on there, so thank you for reminding me. I’ll be sure to check it out in FS2024 first then FS2020 again and add it to the list.

Reviving this wonderful thread!!!

Surprised not been listed yet (as far as I can see with a search on the topic)…

Catania, Italy. (well, Sicily).

I am going to give it a 14/15. Only held back by not being as large as some others but that is all I will say against it.

Wonderful detail, you can even see the nets on tennis courts so it’s looking at like a 5mm resolutuion or something lol

Lovely and interesting town, very dense and historic heart - in fact not much in terms of modern buildings. Amazing architecture, a few lush harbour areas with an old-school train turntable depot nearby one of them… and all in the shadow of Mount Etna (smouldering if you have @bijanstudio Earth FX!!). I also have the Italian Coastline Project payware that adds some nice stuff on the, well, coasts

Try and find the Mafia’s graveyard (near the main airport). I have never seen anything like it!! Go and check it out. Absolutely crazy place.

Main airport is LICC. Have fun!

Thanks for this suggestion @Baracus250 and I’m finally getting back into the Sim so this thread will be kept alive and the List will be updated by this weekend

Just to give everyone an idea as to what I’ve been up to lately with regards to MSFS.

I’ve only been using MSFS2024. Since joining the BETA the fixes made so far leave it impossible for me to find MSFS2020 any fun anymore. Yes there are still bugs in FS2024 and constant adjustment of settings etc is constantly required lol, but overall the future of MSFS2024 looks amazingly bright!

Using the DLSS tweaks along with OpenXR Toolkit has made my VR experience the best it’s ever been and so most of my flying has been done in Las Vegas, Grand Canyon to Marble Canyon, Sedona, and Yellowstone National Park is out of this world! New York looks amazing too now so that’s getting it’s MSFS2024 rating increased!

I’ve found that even with my slow 50mb Internet I can still fly happily in PG areas. Once I’ve been flying around an area for a short while the cache seems to work quite well. Well done MS/Asobo for getting this to work right! I’ve set my RC to 64GB for now and haven’t experienced and problems so far… touch wood :wood: :joy:

Now as for Catania, Italy. Again I’m lost for words!

I’ve only tested it in MS2024 for now and you couldn’t have described it better! 14/15 for me too. Now the PG quality is superb! The non PG areas blend in so well with non PG, this again is something MS/Asobo have got right in a lot of PG areas now. Found the Mafia Graveyard - OMG what a place and the detail is just astonishing and that’s on a Quest 2 so I can only imagine it looks even better on better Headsets!

Only flown in a Helicopter and fun it certainly was! Going to check out Mount Etna now but that’ll be in my trusty Cessna 152 that again is so much fun to fly in MS2024!

Don’t think I shared my new PC specs so it’ll give everyone an idea of what I’m working with now lol

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor 4.70 GHz
Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX DDR5 Motherboard
16GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
64GB (2x32GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200MHz AMD
4TB Samsung 990 Pro M2 PCIe4.0 NVMe SSD
Cooler Master Masterliquid 240L Core 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler
Windows 11 Home

Wife wasn’t happy at the idea of me spending over 2K on a new PC so had to compromise and £1600 was my limit, but I can (and will) upgrade in the future haha haha ha. But for now I’m more then happy with the performance I’m getting and I haven’t even tried to Overclock anything yet. That will no doubt come in the future lol.

Back to flying for now…

It is MAD isn’t it!! What even is that? There are like 4 or 5 storey mausoleum buildings. I reckon a family owns (paid for) one of those and all their family have a slot in there when they cork it? And all the smaller (but still big!) tombs / mausoleums… rows and rows of them like streets! Then the regular gravestones for the ones that were not as loved or important in “the business” or something?

I have another challenge for you if you want to return there (I’m sure you do). Can you find the Radio Controlled Car race track that has been sketched on the ground somewhere?

Never seen that anywhere before.

Thanks for the update and credit

Probably already mentioned, but Prague, Czechia is really nice in FS 2024.

Had a good look for it but can’t find it yet… mind you I’m just having too much fun flying low and slow looking at all the awesome buildings! I’ve not given up looking yet, I’ll find it. Noticed though there are a lot of churches, one wonders why haha, might be so the Mafia can repent their sins

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve not looked at Prague in MSFS2024 yet, I’m going to check that out next, seems quite a few places have improved quite a bit in MSFS2024 hence the need for a separate MSFS2024 & MSFS2020 PG List.

Just had a look at the List and searched through this thread and Prague has been mentioned by a few people, my apologies to them. For some reason it’s not been added to the List.

From what I can remember Prague in MSFS2020 was okay but I’ll look at MSFS2024 first then compare it with MSFS2020 and I’ll add it to the list later along with credit due to the folk the mentioned it ages ago :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for all the suggestions and happy flying :small_airplane: :helicopter:

Let me know when you need a clue
