lol ever been flying in the summer in one of the bug beaters you would get it. Still gonna catch bugs in climb and descent. Sometimes I don’t mind the bugs and then sometimes I could do without.
Happy Landings
I instructed in 172’s and SR20’s in south Florida for 3 years. Summertime, with the everglades right there I have decimated my fair share of bugs, and if you saw the streaks left behind some of them put up a fight. Used to keep 2 cans of of the foam spray cleaner and microfiber towels in every plane and clean them after every student.
I’m fine with the bugs showing up but leaving Salt Lake and flying to Bozeman in the winter I doubt there would be that many. plus there weren’t this many on the windshield when I got to cruise, they accumulated in cruise
Definitely too high a rate for winter. All bets are off in the summer, though.
If you really want realism, they’d be smashed into the props and leading edges of the wing, struts, tail, and stabilizer. Basically any leading edge of the aircraft.
Yes they need to turn down the number of bugs on the windshield, especially during winter months or if flying at higher altitudes. Would be nice to have an option to turn off this effect too.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue: There seems to be an excess of insect splatter on the windscreen. I am sure there are not quite this many insects at the various flight levels to produce this - almost obliteration of sight effect - 1 or 2 maybe but not the hundreds currently seen. Please reduce the amount of splodges on the windscreen

I too experience the “bug splats”, but not at the volume you do.
My flights are usually “Free flights” at the moment, low level in the H125 and the bugs are not an issue.
So we can compare and identify the issue, can you post some pictures and identify the particular aircraft your flying at the time? Thanks.
I have the same issue, bug accumulation is excessive especially at higher altitudes where there would be no bugs. The longer you fly the lore they accumulate. Not bad on a 1 hour flight but the 2-3hour flights it’s excessive.
There’s already a thread on this with pictures
will do next time up for long flight
